IPL 2017 | MI Champions. Win by 1 run

I don't understand these weird foreign player selections of some teams. Can Guptill or even Shaun Marsh be worse than the inconsistent Amla? Can shakib not play for KKR?

About time a player gets punished for wearing one of those ugly hats. Wear a normal cap ffs.

How has this Kaushik guy made it to this level? Horrible action, no rhythm or control. One of the worst bowlers I've seen.

Poor McCullum

I think Thampi is one of the finds of this IPL season. At least I had never heard of him before. He's got an excellent yorker and uses it so frequently to good effect.

Because his action is hard to pick.

Even now players are a bit more aware of him than they were last year he gets away with bowling an awful lot of dross because of it. He's only 21 so its not unreasonable to think he could learn some control, but I agree he looks miles out of his depth right now.

Was De Villiers dropped? Think RCB might struggle to defend this. Should have picked another foreign bowler. Watson is pretty much finished as a bowler.

Also Gayle averaging 40 at a strike rate of 150 in T20's is ridiculously good.

AB is injured.

Can't see him gaining much more control with that action. Head position at the point of release is all wrong. He could get away with it in club cricket but surely not at this level.

With the bowling attack of RCB, i think Chennai Super Kin.. i mean Gujarat Lions have a good chance of chasing this down.

Yeah, well he's never going to be renowned for it but it can improve. I don't think you really need excellent control to succeed as a leg spinner in T20 cricket anyway just bundles of variations and the ability to land it roughly near the batsman and aimed somewhere near the stumps.

I understand the RR was high but there was no need to risk Chahal now. With Negi also bowled out it was likely to be pacers for 6 overs and that's probably just what Baz likes

I don't know if this is a small ground of if Williamson's put on some muscle but if he's added the ability to clear the ropes consistently to his game then he's going to be scary.

I remember AB De Villiers wasn't really a massive hitter at the start of his career. Then he transformed into a monster.

I just googled Matthews. How the feck is his economy rate in international cricket 6.5?

Mathews over Morris cost them the game. Also pathetic running by this pair. So many doubles missed because neither was willing to sacrifice their wicket.

This is an inexperienced batting lineup. Most experienced in that team must be Karun Nair and Billings. They should really get someone like George Bailey (if he is available) to replace de kock and Duminy

I had Amla, Buttler, Rana and Maxwell all in the team.

This ground was a travesty. Parthiv Patel hit a scoop and the ball went to the second tier of the boundary behind the stumps. Distance of the six was 71m.
