India's tour of England

If Moeen improves his batting then England have potentially a devastating allrounder. Will solve a lot of issues with the balance of the team.

Ashwin is making battling look so simple. Really bizarre what our top order has done over the last 3 days.

I think last 3 Indian wickets should just leave the ball on stumps. That will teach these English people and will make this victory hollow :wenger:

Ignoring the batting collapses, this is the dullest Indian batting team I've ever seen. They don't even try to score.

I have never worked out why bowlers insist on being so close, just aim to put your toe on the line, not your heel, the 6" difference in foot position would make feck all difference.

Which is ironical as most of them are quite prolific run scorers and fast scorers in limited overs format of the game, more aggressive than the previous ones.

An Indian collapse can never be complete without a comical run out. Well done boys. Come home and let's play some T20.

Maybe the previous ones were just getting carried by Sehwag? :D

dafuq are you talking about? :D
They all by themselves were pretty good, in fact all 4 of the middle order quartet were better than Sehwag imo. I do have complaints about them for not doing enough on crucial occasions in some series where we were close but couldn't win away. The bowling was average away from subcontinent, always has been, but there were instances when bowling did good job but batsman couldn't hold on. West Indies 2002, Australia 2004, SA in 2008 are some occasions to name. Individually they did decent to v.good away. Sachin-Dravid were as good away from home, Laxman good in Australia and Ganguly doing OK in England.

Pujara-Kohli-Rahane-Rohit are thought to be like for like replacements and Dhawan for Sehwag, but that's all in theory for now.

Jordan is still very raw but he as the ability to take wickets with evil deliveries.

Brilliant win. It's promising the way Moeen actually seems to be improving as a bowler as he plays.

Just hope Broad's okay.

This is almost like WI tour of 2002. That West Indies team was not at their strongest, it was supposed to be India's best chance to win, ever, there. First test, benign pitch in Guyana, draw. 2nd test at Port of Spain, India win and look good. Barbados, a pitch of old WI days and India go down meekly. 4th test Antigua, a draw. 5th test Jamaica, India put WI in on a green-top and bowl wayward. Hinds-Gayle put good opening stand and then India slowly but surely lose grip on match. As soon as last wicket fell in that Jamaica game, rain started...even post-match ceremony couldn't take place out in open and that rain didn't stop for quite a few days.
Watch now next 2 days it raining like crazy in Manchester and India left to rue 'what if..' yet again, away from sub-continent.

This is TMH, signing out and off to twitter thread.

Run rate! It did help team run rate having a Sehwag up front scoring at a run a ball.

Hmm, I don't really fancy getting into a long discussion about it but I don't think Laxman or Ganguly were better than Sehwag. I think his exploits in the subcontinent are good enough to make up for his shit record in SA/England/NZ.

Will be interesting to see Ali bowl in the dust bowls of the subcontinent. He also might not be as good away from home without the Duke ball. Great prospect as an all rounder. Let's not forget, he's in for his middle order batting. Impressed by him last couple of times out.

Great to tail enders. Gets hit for a few by batsmen further up the order now and again atm. He'll get better though.
I'd persevere with him over Stokes/Woakes, because I think he has the ability to get top batsmen out.

I'd question the places of Jadeja, Dhoni in this side.

These players look mentally shot. Never played in a 5 test series and it is showing.

He still causes them problems to be fair.

Bowls too much dross for me to seriously be an effective test player but that will improve.
