India vs England

excellent batting from India, though they'll probably want to declare with only a small lead or they'll take time out of the game.

I don't think that was the case. He seemed to be struggling with his fitness when e started bowling.

Dhoni deserves to be run out.

His slow batting and tactics will have resulted in India drawing anyway.

Chawla's wicket was unnecessary. Expect England to come out attacking in the morning and have India all out quite quickly.

Worst post I've seen on cricket on redcafe

Yeah, that's awful.

Dhoni batted excellently, take his captaincy and your personal dislike of him out of it and just appreciate he played very well on a tough pitch.

Superb by both Dhoni and Kohli today. Feel for him being run out on 99.

What a last session for England though, probably evens out the days play, and leaves us in a position that looked a long way away at tea.

Going to be a very good day of cricket tomorrow.

Because a tiny lead would mean England would not have a chance of winning the match. So it becomes a question of putting scoreboard pressure on England versus the pressure of batting time. I'd do the same thing shaggy says, unless the pitch looks to be very flat.

Moot point now of course. We aren't going to get a lead. Just answering you

Bumble is the funniest commentator ever.

"Why always me"

I enjoy his commentating more than cricket on occasions. You'd also have to be a Northerner to really understand some of his comments.

On a sidenote, MS is putting on some weight for a player of his age, and playing so much cricket.

There's no way England would take any chances on this match anyway and throw wickets attempting to go for a win, the stall was set out from day one, a draw is a win in terms of the series.

Knowing you have to score runs to even get on par with the opposition tends to lead to a lot more collapses than teams batting as normal.

If England can get India out sharpish and bat a quick 100-120, that's it I reckon.

Why do they have to get on par with the opposition if England are trailing by a sizeable number?

Then it becomes a question of batting less number of sessions than in the other case.

It's a psychological thing. Knowing you need runs to even be level with the opposition puts more pressure on than just being able to go out and play a normal game. Imagine if for example you're trailing by 50 runs, you lose 2 wickets early on, then all of a sudden you're still on negative runs knowing that you're going to have to get a total that the opposition won't be able to reach by the time you are all out, by the time your innings "starts" your already men down. That is a lot more trying mentally, to me at least.

Well at least we finally showed some fight! Fell asleep halfway through the second session with Kohli and Dhoni in the 60s. Shame about how the game ended, but this is probably going to be a draw anyway.

No problem, it was just my chrome. Your posts had the page all messy. Looks fine on mozilla.
