India Tour of South Africa

Rahul played the worst shot of the series. fecking cnut

Our openers are pathetic. fecking attack or something. Just dont understand why they come out to block all the time. At least with Viru, if he'd face 30 balls, he would have 25-30 runs.

I feel for Kohli, hes surrounded by shite. Although, I cant shake off the feeling that with Rahane, we would be 1000x better.

Parthiv Patel has been sent ahead of that shitc*nt Rohit Sharma:lol:

Prick. Rohit is so bad, its boiling my blood. He may as well just go for it when he comes out.

Kohli is an idiot, though. He acknowledged that Jinx is our best away batsmen prior to this match yet decided not to pick him.

I love Kohli as a player but some of the team selections have been horrific. If you can't back Rohit to come before Parthiv Patel, then what's the fecking point?

There are a lot of people questioning his team selection. Leaving Rahane out for 2 tests already comes to mind. I think for his own legacy, he needs to step aside similar to what Sachin did. He (Kohli) is undroppable anyway so why not hand over the reigns to someone else and let them worry about the captaincy, all the while performing his duties as the best batsman in the team.

A couple of problems with that -

Who else is guaranteed to play regularly and can handle captaincy responsibilities?
Sachin had to resign because of additional pressure as a captain as well as internal politics with presence of seniors who did not respect his decisions enough. Sachin also never imposed his authority despite being the best player for two decades (again, weird for a Mumbaikar). None of this applies to Kohli.

Kohli needs someone calm yet strong who can point out his deficiencies and simmer down his unnecessary fire. Kumble was the closest to accomplish that (as well as being a good guide to Ashwin on foreign tours) but he isn't there now. I may have to check this but I think Kohli left out Vijay and Pujara during the tour of West Indies but Kumble brought them back into the team later as he considered them very good batsmen. Dravid is the next best but he doesn't want to handle full responsibilities as India coach. You can take a boy out of Delhi but..

Rahane, Rohit, Rahul, Dhawan - India could have started anyone and the results wouldn't have been any different. India at home play on the flatest of flat pitches. Batsman plant their foot and hit through the line. Pitches in South Africa are the complete opposite to that. A team cannot land here a week before and immediately start performing on these wickets. The batters and bowlers both need to acclimatize themselves to these pitches and the surroundings. Beating a sub-grade Sri Lankan team in your own backyard isn't enough preparation for a tour to South Africa. Even against them India struggled anytime there was a bit of juice in the wicket, and then the next match prepared a belter so that they do not lose the series. I think there was an innings in the test matches and one of the one dayers against the Lankans when India batsmen folded on a wicket livelier than the one they are used to. Pretty sure Rahul and Rahane played in those games.

It's not selection, it's the lack of preparation. Then there is the arrogance of Kohli and Shastri. Not the correct men to lead India on foreign tours. The right guy was unceremoniously fired because he was methodical and hardworking.

This pitch is shit.

I know. One of the worst Ive seen. A flaccid pile of crap with nothing on offer.

Think that's unfair. It's a slow pitch but South Africa should have scored 450 batting first but threw it away with silly run outs, Kohli scored a 150 and even yesterday and today Elgar & De Villiers managed to put on 141. The inconsistent bounce only came in the latter part of today and that is not entirely unusual for 4th and 5th day pitches.

I still think it takes a lot of skill from the quicks (i.e. using the crease, seam position, using cutters, landing the ball in the right areas etc) to get the results they have. Bumrah & Shami did superbly to bring India back into it and unfortunately SA quicks were super quick to pick up on the adjustments they had made.

A wicket that takes the game to Day 5, allows all 40 wickets to fall and gets a result has plenty to offer IMO.

fecking cnuts. fecking stupid.

Another away team getting plummeled then. Shocking.

Is it bad? Not watching, but reading the posts on here seems bad enough..

I fancy Australia to win the series over there in March. We'll do our bit to help the credibility of teams playing away from home ;)
