India Tour of South Africa

This will not be highlighted much but I can see this kind of pitch being the trend followed by many top playing countries whenever India tour them. The pitches in this series so far has been average and this one is pathetic. I really wish we had won the toss in one of the two previous tests and batted first. Not the pitch to judge our batsmen.

Doubt it when India come to Australia. Perth, Adelaide and Sydney will be relatively flat. The MCG pitch is on notice after the piece of shit that was meant to be a cricket pitch. Safe to assume the MCG pitch will have some life in it. Plus the last pitch that could be described as bowler friendly, the Hobart test against South Africa saw the Proteas marmalise Australia. No bowler friendly pitch has been prepared since.

Cricket Australia and channel 9 want tests to go into a 5th day. The last time India came to Australia the pitches were batting friendly to put it mildly which suited CA and channel 9.with 3 out of the 4 tests going into deep into day 5. In 2011-12, there were four flogging with 3 of the four tests over before day 5 and the Perth test done in 2 and a half or so. CA won't want a repeat.

Kohli out bowled by Rabada for 41 - 134-5 leading by 127. Fine knock in the context of this match.

Umpires are going to call this game off before it ends.. The pitch is horrible and wont get any better.

Yes it may not be this deadly but Australia would spice their pitch up a bit. No way will they just make a batting heavy track as that may suit India more.

To be honest, i expect to see pitches pretty similar to the ones prepared last time India was here. Flat pitches, shit loads of runs with Australia's quicks expecting to be able to trouble India's batsmen with the pace and bounce they'll extract from the pitch.

Yup, fully expecting bouncy, but flat pitches. There will be no greens.

Hopefully they keep dropping catches against Australia like Elgar did last over.

India badly want to win and show they hang tough on challenging surfaces, dead rubber or not. Here in the Republic we are frankly embarrassed with the pitch conditions, we never meant to take it this far.

Excited to see how India fares this time considering our batting is a bit more experienced from last time and we have good pace attack now and a quality spinner.

Considering how much flak we get of not performing away from home, this although lost the series but we have done well.

Would suck if this is called off now :p
Expect India to score 20 odd more runs, and South Africa to come bat today.

Rahane showing why hes one of the best in these conditions. Really fecks with the mind as to why he and Bhuvi havent played the full series...

Ya dropping Bhuvi after the first test! :wenger:

Great by Shami.. Invaluable runs

India have 9 more overs to get as much as possible. Once the new ball comes its gonna end in no time. Good approach just trying to go for it

First test selection could be termed as interesting. The second, was a college complete and utter clusterfeck.

The team would benefit a lot from consistent selections..

This series has been a convoluted way to determine the best 11 which most people seemed to know already.

Unless Kohli is utterly brainless, he should surely learn. It'd be a shame if we kept going everywhere and losing competitively.

What is the likelihood of this game being actually called off? Cant see it. When was the last time that even happened

Holding has already said it should have been called off by now. We've just been lucky no one has been seriously hit and India are desperate for a win, so want to keep going. Once a few South African batsmen get hit, there's no question they will want to come off and then it's down to the umpires. We're also only on day three, it might get even worse tomorrow.
