India tour of South Africa.

Tame end..

If there's no rain, we're going to lose this.

What? No way. They are still batting slowly.. Get Du Plessis out and its a stone cold draw barring a batting collapse.. Even if he does bat, we will probably only have to bat 3 sessions.. If we don't do that, we deserve to lose.

You guys really think we'll draw tihs? Against those 3 seamers, I don't fancy us to last 4 sessions with a bit of scoreboard pressure.

Peterson's cameo has taken the match to SA's grasp.

We need something really special from Pujara here.

what a catch.. and what a waste of a wicket..

that's one of the best catches I've ever seen.

Terrible. We were looking comfortable too. Dhawan finally staying at the wicket.. Now on Pujara and Kohli to save the match.. That being said, if Rohit goes into "block mode" like he did inn the ODIs, we may depend on him too

short mid wicket. trying to hit over him, especially when it's du Plessis who I think is as good a fielder as ABD.. really think he could've put that shot away.

We won't lose this. They'll score at least 200 more I reckon. Won't be enough time for sa to chose down the 100 odd runs if they do get us out.

We have 4 specialist batsmen left and need them to bat 60+ overs without losing more than 3 wickets. It's not going to be easy.

Everything's dependent on Pujara.

From Cricinfo

From our stats editor S Rajesh: Pujara's faced 600 balls in this series, 4th-highest by any overseas No. 3 batsman in a series in South Africa. The three higher than him played at least 6 innings.

Rohit just said to Steyn, we'll see how you do in India

Tbf, the last time we said something like that, we proceeded to beat them 4-0.

Rohit's really thick as pig shit.

Get in as many runs as possible before the new ball..

bloody hell, you cant accuse this lot of not having courage.

6 down and he's smacked it.

Dhoni and especially Jadeja absolutely gifted their wickets away.

No chance of it happening, but really someone should ask Dhoni to consider his batting in the away test. Not fecking good enough.

Rahane btw has surprassed my expectations. The likes of Dhawan, Rohit, Dhoni still need to show more skill with the bat. I'll excuse Jadeja here because he was terrific in bowling.

I thought Dhawan was very good? To be fair I've not seen him bat much in SA.
very good in India, but even that looked a bit of a purple patch. He does not leave the ball at all.

Think he has potential in India and a lot to learn outside of India. Showed some application yesterday, but right now he looks a 30ish average player.

Before the start of the series, I'd happily taken a 1-0 series defeat.

Can't help but feel disappointment over how we've batted in the second innings so far. Still Pujara, Kohli, Vijay and Rahane have all looked good.

We ain't losing 4-0 to this lot in any conditions.

Pathetic batting by india in this innings. The lack of expierence of the top order totally exposed and the middle didn't fare much better. Thought the whole approach was wrong from the get go. This india team has a long way to go before reaching the standards of our team. Roll on Australia.

This team isn't taking 20 wicket's from us regardless. Not on a consistent basis anyways.

Ashwin, Ojha and Jadeja on a spinning Indianv wicket will get 20 wickets more often than your quicks will in those conditions. Bitterly disappointed with this effort by the Indian team. At least Rahane, Kohli and Pujara looked good. They are the future of Indian test batting.

Not an easy balancing act this. Farming the strike versus getting runs before the new ball..

Shame Jadeja couldn't have stuck around for a bit with him.

Shock of my life when I saw the score:( but Rahane's been excellent.

Disappointing to lose the series but there have been plenty of positives

Pujara, Kohli, Rahane all massive pluses for India and Vijay I suppose although I remain unconvinced.

I think there needs to be a big change with respect to the bowlers. We've gone far too long without a proper bowling attack.

It's worrying that Dhoni thinks they bowled well.

All good having a good batting line-up -- we may have one that will dominate for years, but the next 10 years are going to be like the last 10 if we don't address the bowling issues.

Yeah, that's important. No point in scoring 400+ yourself but you struggle to restrict the opposition.

Yep, if it was any other top 5 international team's bowling attack - i would have backed them to get the result in that first test after setting a target of 458.
