India tour of South Africa.

That's because he's been downright rubbish with the bat since he's made his debut. He's pretty much a bowler who can slog a bit in the one days
I don't think he's play first class cricket since then?

And he didn't have many chances at test level. Although I've not rated his batting from day 1..

Could do with some runs from him now.

100+ more runs and we'd be in a very good position. On the other hand, get bowled out for less than 50 and we'd be praying for rain.

From what I recall he looked out of his depth against Australia and that was in India. I have no idea how he's managed to score as many runs as he has in first class cricket. Technique looks really poor

I am not nearly as convinced about Rohit as zing. I think he simply lacks the mental strength needed to make in test level for a long period. Buckles under pressure too easily, a bad run of form is always around the corner for him for this very reason. Kohli for all his faults is a great fighter, he has that air of self confidence that allows him to back himself despite bad form or any other averse conditions. Sharma seems like someone who falls into the trap of self doubt way too early. Any one who played cricket at a good level would know what that is. You go in praying for a bad ball first up instead of concentrating on your own thing. It was the same with him today.

There's nothing wrong with Jadeja's technique. You don't score triple centuries without being capable with batting.

There's a trend amongst the Indians here to continuously underrate this team.

Mate, there's clearly a lot wrong with his batting. You can only judge him on first class cricket for so long

Cue jadeja going out on first ball now...

 What a collapse. Again last 5 going down for a paltry score. 14 this time. This match is somehow reminding me of MCG from 2003-04 tour. On a good batting pitch, from 1 for 278 and then 4 for 350, India had collapsed to 366 and then Ponting & Co. batted India out of the match. Remains to be seen if SA can put such total on board to bat India out or whether this match too will go the same way as first. Weather can still play spoilsport in this match.

I hate watching Indian bowl, feels like a wicket's never going to happen and getting 6 top order wickets feels like 600 wickets.

Ishant has been pretty good. Zaheer very average.

I put £5 on SA at 22/1 this morning before play started, ridiculous they were that long.

That's a good bet.

Got to say Rahane's been very impressive. I missed the second part of his innings yesterday, but his composure is fantastic.. just seeing the highlights of his knock on TV.

If he plays more knocks like that, it'd be a waste to have a guy who can form big partnerships down at 6. If he goes up top to replace Dhawan, who would you guys want at 6?

Rayudu, Badrinath, Tiwary.. who else is around?

There's Jiwanjoth Singh who I have not seen, but I think he's a top order batsman. Aparajith at Tamil Nadu is fantastic but just starting out.

I think Gambhir should come back in.

Don't think so. He's not done very well away.

I think we have better batsmen.

Symcox's holier-than-you bullshit when it comes to fast bowling is annoying. I hope we roll them over. Unlikely, but I'd like to see his face if we do.

Think he's better than Dhawan but I'd like us to move forward rather than go backwards.

There is loads of young batting talent in India.

Always helps to have a local third umpire I guess.
Can't believe that was given not out after the stump camera.

I like Jadeja as a bowler better than any of our other spinners in the squad.

Right back in this now.

What has happened to Amla? His technique has looked suspect the whole series.

Because we'd get bowled out for 200 every time, with the added pressure on the top order knowing there's only 5 batsmen in the team.

Jadeja will come good soon enough as a batsman and Ashwin averages 40 in test matches. Are you forgetting Dhoni?

No. Dhoni's not good enough as a batsman abroad. He shows that every time he goes out to bat.

Jadeja, I don't believe is going to be good enough as an all-rounder, overseas in particular.

Such a tame end to the series.

Have to feel for Jadeja. Bowling his 50th over now.

Can we take the new ball now and then again at the 160th over mark?
