Why would they give a feck? They have the support of most Indians.
Don't go by what many of the Indians say on this thread. We are the minority. The majority of Indians are in favour of all the things that are happening. Most of these will deny it, but they bear a lot of latent hatred and communalism in their hearts.
For once you've to actually applaud Delhi police for their extraordinary competence in following Shah's instructions perfectly. From goading and directing mobs to actively torturing people, they've accomplished all that's been asked of them. There's reports that loudspeakers were put up right next to police chowkis which were being used by mobs to organize themselves!

Historically in Indian riots, the only force that can make a difference is deploying the army.
In 2002, Modi delayed their deployment while his fellow-travellers did what they had wanted all along. This time he is at the centre, has anyone even suggested his govt can do an army deployment?

Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar has passed an anti NRC resolution. I don't think it'll be enough to avoid large scale loss of Muslim votes for JDU, and I think bjp is also going to ask for more seats in the seat sharing. How do you guys see it shaping out? Will we see some Muzaffarnagar type riots just before the elections?

Politicians making incendiary speeches should be debarred from taking part in any subsequent elections. This includes people like Owaisi and Azmi, along with the BJP loudmouths.
If incendiary speeches are a criteria, more than half of BJP including PM, Home Minister will all be debarred.
It is not going to happen. Politicians are not going to bring a law that will hurt them.
Journalists who are very respected among the secular crowd are saying that BJP is surprised by the scale of Muslim attacks, not like 2002. They feel violence has been evenly from both sides this time.

Dont know about the rumours you're listening to. But at the end of the day, this is Modi and Amit Shah's creation. Their pathetic and discriminatory core principals which are aligned with the RSS' have deeply damaged the nation and led us to today's situation, and they're most likely to make things worse from here on. This is Modi's new India no matter who else they wish to blame.

Hate getting into this but haven’t they seen who is the most affected, which homes and buildings are the most damaged. Unless of course they wanted everyone to take the beating lying low as seen in the videos.

and i totally agree that govt wants this and is promoting this. the only dispute is that unlike 2002 or the other big ones, this isn't a mostly one-sided massacre. in those previous big riots, the ratio was about 5 or 10 muslims killed for every hindu.
Sangh cadre is there to provoke, beat up, cause riots, they are fascists.
