Completely agree, and whilst regarding Ole may have our doubts about him tactically but I would let him finish the job as he seems to have identified the culture Issue and seems bang on improving it along with the playing personal.

That's all well and good but having let so many go in the summer we should have sat down and immediately identified 2-3 payers to sign in January and had those deals ready to go Jan 1st.

Because you can do the groundwork and complete the transfer in the four months from September to December. It just goes through on the 1st. Liverpool did it just last week with Minamino and Dortmund with Haaland.

That's dependant on the player being available and clubs happy to let them go mid way through the season. You won't find many potential first team players like that barring Emre Can.

If I were you, I'd look at Ndidi. You obviously need strengthening in midfield and he's been great every time I've watched Leicester. He's PL proven, has a good age and is combatant as well as a decent passer. He'd be expensive, but money shouldn't be a problem for United unless Woodward thinks Ole's a dead man walking, in which case he might do what he did to Mourinho.

I've wanted Ndidi for a while but think there is very little chance of getting him. He is one of Leicester's most important players and they are going to want to keep him to get them in the Champions League. If we were willing to sort some deal out in the summer I would gladly take it.
It's the best the Glazers will do, they've proved time and time again that they've no ambition as owners of our club. It's dying a horrible slow death since they took over.
Yeah, I know it wouldn’t be easy and likely very expensive as well. But I like the look of him, so even if he’s unattainable this window, he’s someone I’d pursue in the summer then if I were you.
Anyone we bring in to impact this season has to be able to slot in straight away which basically means prem experience. That doesn’t leave many attainable options.
Hence can and Longstaff bring mentioned. For me it looks like we dodged a bullet with Longstaff but Can could be a decent addition and do a job. Problem is Juve will try and rinse us... i dont think it’s as simple as a lot of people are making our. It’s a tough gig.

Just think about this: For the following 4-6 weeks we have to field 3 out of 6 of this lot; Fred, Matic, Pereira, Garner, Lingard and Mata.

We badly need a dm who can sit in front of the 2cb. Only Matic can do this, and he is not good enough.
We also need a creative number number 10, but I think we should prioritize a striker before that. If we missed out on Haaland why not go for our second choice which was moussa dembele?

The way we do business it will take all of January to get one player in and it would not surprise me if by near the end of the month we will hear Ole saying that we will soon have players come back from injury so the squad is starting to look good again.
If we do not have a new player in by this time next week it ain’t happening as if we were serious the wheels would have been in motion weeks ago given our lack of depth in midfield.

We need a proper striker more than playmaker. We are toothless without on form Martial. Even Dwight Gayle can improve our attack more than Bruno Fernandes at this stage.

Yet more evidence of how crucial this window is. Severely lacking quality in so many areas. A couple of good signings will make such a difference to this team and this season. I genuinely dont understand the direction the board and owners want to take with us.

A lot of people don’t like me on here so I will offer this, if we don’t sign anyone in this window I will quit posting on here.
Something a bit admirable about it. Jose signing the likes of Alexis as a panic buy, Moyes signing Mata.
At least he's not wasting our money on a short-term player just to keep his job a bit longer. He may not be a great manager but he's not thinking about himself, he's thinking more about the club.

Rashford, Martial and Greenwood arent consistent enough and can play across the front 3/4 positions, if No10 position is included. We have James, who isnt good enough either at the minute.
I dont think we will get anyone in January and if we do itll be a young player with potential and the rest of the season will be a struggle and end with a whimper.
Lindelof looks indecisive as well, so another defender would be a welcome addition, in truth we need another 5 players to compete and finish the season strong. Not sure who the players are but we wont get them all in January, if any.
Really important we get in a couple of players this window. No creativity in our side. Just depending on runners all the time won't win you enough games, we need creative players in the midfield and up front.
I understand the art of negotiation. But surely Eds tactic of always leaving it late in the window is not conducive with signing our first or 2nd choice targets?

Piatek, Grimaldo, Gedson Fernandes, Soumare and Bruno Fernandes are all no brainer types of signings which will improve us immediately so why not go for them before they're signed up by others.
Piatek is a real CF and the only other alternative I can see which would also suit us is Raul Jimenez.

I appreciate Ole seems to really care about the club. My point is our issues were very obvious this summer. We clearly needed another CM losing Fellaini and Herrera, and a striker would not have hurt losing Sanchez and Lukaku. Throw in the fact that folks like Jones, Rojo and Lingard are kept and Herrera get treated horribly and this issue is clearly not one of Ole making.
So looking at what we have by position...
Keeper: Degea and Romero- we are sorted.
RB: AWB and Dalot- sorted
LB: Williams and Shaw- need to sit on this and see but think it is sorted.
CB: Maguire, Linderlof, Jones, Rojo, Bailly, Tuanzebe (Smalling on loan)- Jones and Rojo need to be gone. No idea what to do with Bailly. Tuanzebe needs a shot. Probably sit tight but a top notch CB might be needed, just not a priority.
CM: Pogba, McT, Fred, Matic, and Garner- Matic is past it and Garner too young. A top flight DCM would be ideal.
ACM: Lingard, Mata, Gomes, and Pereira- That Mata is the best choice here tells you all you need. I have banged on about this we so need help here. Would like Gomes to get some games so we know what we have.

Stiker: Martial- More consistenty from Martial would be ideal.

.What frustrates me more than poor performances is the lack of desire of the board to do anything. The TV deal has fecked us over because the Glazers don't need CL football anymore for the club to be reasonably profitable.

Yeah it is a bad sign when us fans care more than those that get paid by the club itself.
Agree that this just sounds like his opinion, but then again he did call in the summer that the club weren’t making more than £100m available to spend in that window at a time when most people were expecting a big window from us, suggesting he does have some good information left at the club - perhaps he’s hearing more than he’s letting on?
But if not, then calling a quiet window from United isn’t exactly a brave call to make given how badly we’re run.

When Ogden mentioned the 100 million net spend last summer he was almost ridiculed. Time proved him right.
Imo in the next few windows we will continue cutting down wage bill and net spend will not exceed 70-100 million annually.
I don't think we'll buy anyone. I could see Emre Can on loan, but nothing big.
If we don’t buy that’s one thing but there are players that could be brought in on short term loans to give the squad a boost; Can, James & Cavani for example. Maybe even Rabiot. There’s no excuse for not getting players in at least on loan
