If Liverpool win tomorrow's match

I cannot believe I'm going to be disappointed if we don't win, and I will be disappointed if we aren't in the title mix in May.

Those may be wildly unrealistic hopes but it shows what a turnaround we have had since August.

I am absolutely gutted we aren't in the title mix in May after our post World Cup form, all down to our best player missing the biggest away game in second half

@croadyman will blame the refs.

IF we lose, it will be:

"Ten Hag is overrated"

"We overrate our players"

"This team is nowhere near a title winning side"

etc

Best to avoid RedCafe after points are dropped, they all come out of the woodwork.

I do blame the ref for that Palace draw you are right about that,oh and the fact we are 14 not 12 behind as well

Souness redknapp and Merson will start to spout their usual drivel. That’s the worst thing about it really.

Means feck all really. They probably need the win a lot more than we do but the aura of being untouchable has gone this season. We’re much better than them this season and with Spurs and Newcastle losing yesterday means we can afford it (even though I would love us to beat them at Anfield to compound their misery).

They got slapped around Anfield by Real like I’ve rarely seen a team do to Liverpool and they’re super flaky form wise. They beat City one week and next week they’re losing to Forest.

They’ve got a nightmare run of City away, Chelsea away and Arsenal home in the space of 8 days next month too.

We must go into every match (except dead rubbers in cup competitions) as players and supporters as though it's a must win match.

State of the match day thread. Who would have guessed

I blame this thread.

Kind of expected a loss actually. But not 3-0.

It's not about staying calm, the performance is back to 3 years ago, no matter we are tired or whatever other excuses we might have.

This is Liverpool's cup final of this season, they were pumped and ready. Just hate that it gives them confidence now to get top 4.

Never like losing but really thought we’d got past this imploding against Liverpool shit. On to the next game.

feck off with the positive vibes. You don’t get a fecking battering like this and not expect to be pissed off.

The last time ETH asked the player to run 13.8km after heavy defeat. This time it should be 42km run.

It's who it's against and the Absolutely pathetic surrender right from the start that's made me so angry with today's performance, so much so I've given up watching

I hope he makes them run and run and run until they can't run anymore. Make the Brentford one look like it was a stroll in the park

If it was a close fought, us trying hard defeat, I could accept it, but this is chuckle brothers at its finest, probably in line with our worst games under Ole.

If it was something like RM or Barca I could accept it, but it's allowing our fecking bitter rivals to humiliate us. just no

Felt we were due a bad result and that this would be it. Toughest place to come in english football. Even under Fergie we used struggle.

Tactics were correct but then that Gapko goal against the run of play changed it.

On to the next one i say.

I’m not sure you can equate a 5+-0 loss as just a stepping stone in our process. Can’t be doing all this good work and then still have an absolute capitulation in us.

Feels like a massive backwards step.

I don't think the tactics were right. Weghourst as a 10 doesn't offer anything apart from work rate, same with Antony who was actually poor defensively too today.

I felt we were better in the first until their goal against the run of play. Then we had to come out and they have just killed us on the counter with the space available.

Move onto the next game.

I am not superstitious or anything but this damn thread feels like it jinxed us to oblivion

I honestly can't believe I have seen Liverpool defeating us 5-0 twice in two fecking seasons in a row. Can you seriously believe this ? Absolutely fecking ridiculous.

Have to factor in tiredness as well. We are wrecked tired. You can see it.

They have played us off the park second half. It's not about counter, their midfield has completely dominated us and it's bound to happen when you play someone like Weghourst there. Signing him as a backup was fine, but he is starting every game in a position which is critical and that has forced our best player in that position out wide. It's insane that we have Sancho and Garnacho on the bench but we start with Weghourst as a 10.

Well, if this was American football, we’d only be down by a touchdown.

There's a sense of irony in that us beating Liverpool at home kickstarted our season, and their thrashing us at Anfield might have done the same for them.

I knew we'd lose but I didn't think we'd get twatted 6-0

RAWK's "redcafe meltdown" thread will feed him for years after this one
