If Liverpool win tomorrow's match

I am calm as never. I am focused on cups. We will be in top 4 anyway.

Draw or a win would be nice though

Happy with a draw unless they equalise in the last minute with a VVD bullet header

Thinking of what we're going to do if we lose a game is a poor mentality.

We're going to win or at the very least put our best efforts to win. Be confident.

Don't lose your shit.
Its one game of a very long and arduous season.

It's not going to define this team or the progression.

Stay calm one way or another. It won't be the end of the world.

I do think we'll drop points. Are away record this season against the big teams isn't the greatest.

City - L
Arsenal - L
Chelsea - D
Barca - D

This doesn't have the whole story though.

City was pre Ten Hag getting things going.
Barcelona we were pretty unlucky not to win.
Chelsea would have been a travesty if we hadn't got that last min equaliser.
Arsenal was without Casemiro and was a last min goal.

But yes in general we still have it to prove in the big aways. But we've very rarely played well at Anfield in the last 20 years.

We've had better United sides lose to worse Liverpool sides at Anfield. It would ruin my week though, so let's beat them instead!

Ultimately the goal at the start of the season was top 4 and maybe a final / cup.

The progress has been immense. Regardless.

Why are we even talking about losing ffs?
We're visiting a ground where we haven't scored a goal since 2018. And we lost that game 3-1 with a miserable, dismal performance.

A Liverpool win is the most likely result tomorrow and we should be prepared for that.

How many years has it been since Juanfield? We are due a result there sometime.
8 years. Best United performance at Anfield I've ever seen. We even beat them season after that but that was boring game about to end in draw before Rooney scored the winner around 80th minute. Smash and grab stuff.

Newcastle and Spurs' results make me calmer about tomorrow though you normally want to win 3 points even more when other teams drop points.

One thing that's frustrating is how much we have always struggled at Anfield, while Liverpool even though they haven't won many games at Old Trafford over last 15 years or so, those wins were in style: 4-1 in 2009, 3-0 in 2014, 4-2 and 5-0 in 2021. Our Juanfield win was just 2-1. Not complaining as same result tomorrow would be great, just saying..

No, it is not.

We are going to destroy their back 4, I'm up for this. Ten Hag is a different proposition for Klopp and he knows it. If anything we are getting them at the right time.

I think Mata's scissors kick and seeing Gerrard play for just 30 seconds before being sent off was worth 3 goals to be fair.

Yeah and we led in 2 of those 4 games which stings, most painfully that Arsenal game

Well, for the first time in some while there isn’t a title challenge on the line for both teams and whatever the result it would probably not derail our quest for Top 4.

Time for Maguire to strut his stuff and show everyone he is a Vidic-reincarnate.

Yeah sad this hasn't been a title clash since 2009

Before ETH, whenever we played Liverpool it was like Boys against Men. I just want us to play well and dominate them to show our improvement under ETH. I will be happy with a draw and a win is a bonus.

ETH should be sacked if we lose, simple as that.

All the pressure is on them, we can lose and still comfortably make top 4. If they don’t win it’s a massive missed opportunity for them to close the gap on top 4 with Spurs and Newcastle losing yesterday. It’s like a free hit for us.

I was going to say that I can't believe people are looking at the form of almost completely different teams, under a completely different manager to base their view of today's game... but I now accept that's how simple it is to some people.

We need win to get gap back down towards single figures again that's for sure

We won't lose. But that said, our collective heads might get so big and giddy if we win by a big margin. Caf might be unbearable for a while.

Win, lose or draw, it doesn’t matter to me. The bigger picture is that we should perform well. We are a team in transition and how well we compete is much more important that the results.

Exactly. Except LVG, the last 10 years we were embarrassing vs Liverpool. We either park the bus or being outplayed by Liverpool. This is the game we should start to perform well and take the game to them for a change.

can't tell you how much losing to them make me sick - or how long I feel bad for afterwards. And more so, when they are as poor as they are at the moment

Don't lose your shit.

@croadyman will blame the refs.

IF we lose, it will be:

"Ten Hag is overrated"

"We overrate our players"

"This team is nowhere near a title winning side"

etc

Best to avoid RedCafe after points are dropped, they all come out of the woodwork.
