Ice Hockey

In the Western Conference, we are set for a duel between the dominant Anaheim Ducks and the surprising Calgary Flames in Round 2. In the other matchup, the Chicago Blackhawks will square off against the Minnesota Wild. We should have 2 excellent series in the West.
Ducks and Hawks should win their series easily. I can't quite believe how much the Blues bottled it again in the first round, unbelievable.. I really hope for the Isles to go through as well, would make an excellent series indeed, and at least two mores games in the Coliseum.

Ahh

It's pretty incredible considering how stacked their team is.

Also its a shame Isles lost, they've been playing exciting hockey all year. They're a young team though so they should be around for a while!

Ducks-Hawks will be a cracking series, I hope Chicago edges it though, Kane and Toews have been excellent in the playoffs so far.

Strong comebacks from the Habs and Rangers. Caps will be massively disappointed if they're going out in Game 7, and I think TB will still go through.

Yes, say what you want about that Rangers team but Lundqvist has been the difference for them so many times, what a legend. I had to get up early today so only watched the first two periods but the Caps had some very good chances to retake the lead in the second period. I feel like this was a career-defining game for Ovechkin though - he will be remembered as one of the greats of his generation but he has never even reached a Conference finals ffs!

Fancy a Chicago-Tampa Bay final with Chicago to win the Cup. You just can't see past them now.

Well bookies can....Rangers favourites, Ducks-Hawks joint 2nd. Ducks-Hawks should be awesome though, big break up of the team after this postseason most likely for the Hawks too with Toews and Kane contracts kicking in, so get it done boiz.

I'm okay with that. I'll miss him but Blashill is highly regarded.

Indeed, especially for the money he went for as well, I don't buy that he is the de facto "best coach in the league"

Jeff has done great things at GR and most of his Calder Cup winning side are now on the roster, will be great to see how far he can take them.

Andrew Shaw, it was a brilliant header though :)
Indeed, but good thing it was disallowed though, correct call from the officials. Still happy the Hawks took the win in OT, longest game in franchise history. I think this series will go the distance.

Brilliant game last night, I watched the first two periods but went to bed because I was too tired, ffs. Huge win for the Hawks!

Game 7's in both series, feck me this is going to be tense. Don't really care who comes out of the East but I'm hoping for TB because I like Stammer. But please Chicago, finish those Ducks tomorrow. Let's hope they play as good as they did last night.

I hope all these Blackhawks fans are also Bears and Cubs fans.....I mean the Cubs are at the start of their new empire as well using the Blackhawks blueprint. So don't let me down by just bandwagoning one Chi-town team and not the scrubs.

It's hard to be a legit dynasty in hockey thanks a wonderful strict cap, but the backbone of that team is special, be hard to do much over the next couple seasons though, so big push in Anaheim this weekend. 3 in 5 years won't be repeated often while this strict cap stays in place, which hopefully it does.

I'm not a Hawks fan, I root for the Penguins and the Blues... I dislike the Ducks with a passion though so I want Chicago to win, and I've got a lot of respect for Toews and Kane, both wonderful players.

I'm not a Blackhawks fan either (Jets) but I dislike the Ducks.
Not really bothered if Blackhawks, Rangers or Tampa win the cup

Nobody likes the Disney Ducks. That's good.

When the Wings are out, I tend to root for original six teams, for no real reason at all. I also have an irrational dislike for California teams, but the Ducks especially. Shame it won't be a Hawks/Rangers final.

Lightning are the first team to beat three Original Six teams on the way to the SCF. Great victory for them, the only one I feel sorry for is Lundqvist. I'm already nervous for tonight, I'd fecking hate it if the Ducks go through.

Excellent start, Toews once again.

Edit: AND once again! 2-0, I'll be very disappointed if I wake up to a Ducks win tomorrow.

Did anyone join the NHL Bracket Challenge? I had Hawks-Ducks and Rangers-Habs as conference finals with a Hawks-Rangers final, so three out of the four teams were right. I'm ranked 227044th, it's crazy how the top five predicted the course of the playoffs though, the first one has got everything right, even the length of six out of eight first round matchups.

Next game is crucial for the Hawks but I reckon they'll nick it, 2-2 after four games.

It would be an incredible achievement for Jon Cooper if he wins the Cup. Don't really have a preference for either team, I just hope we'll get some exciting games with hopefully a game 7 to decide it all.

Come on Tampa, get it to a game 7. They need Stammer to be at his best today, he needs to end that scoring drought and bury the chances he'll get. Hawks' depth on offense will be a huge factor again today; Shaw and Saad are doing a terrific job so far, same goes for Vermette.

Great opportunity for Kucherov early on..

Been watching the American feed for this game for the first time in a very long time. I actually feel a little bad for you Americans having to watch games on NBC.
Pierre McGuire is bad enough, but the main color commentary guy is just irritating.

I'm just glad I have a working stream, don't care that it's NBC :D

Great save Bishop but Toews should score from there. Hawks look threatening on the PP so far...
