ICC World T20

I like Bairstow. Thought he was fantastic against SA.

Torrid start,

Near impossible from here, and we're only 6 overs in!

I have the match on in the background and that was comfortably the best thing of the match.

They've left it far too late now. Unless something amazing happens, Windies will win this.

Great effort by Morgan.

It's that stupid Bairstow innings that will cost us in the end.

Yep. Even though he's raced to 50, it begs the question why doesn't he bat higher up the order? He's England's most dangerous batsman imo and he should have the opportunity to face as many balls as possible.

1 over, 23 runs. Too much to do, IMO.

Fantastic knock by Morgan.

Bairstow killed us after an awful start, and i have no idea how Hayles has spliced his way to 60-odd.

That should be the Windies win confirmed.

Superb effort from Morgan but England took too long to get going.

Brilliant stuff from Pakistan so far. This is the key partnership.

feck! Chance to run out AB missed.

So, no points carryover to the Super 8's? The whole purpose of the earlier group stage was just to get rid of the so called "minnows"?

Why are the group winners playing other group winners and the second placed playing the other second placed teams? Shouldn't the winners play other second placed teams?

Am I missing something or it's just a shit format? Another gem brought to us by the idotic ICC.

Why is there no decision review? Because Dhoni can't get a handle on it?

I hate cricket because of it's shitty administrators.

The first group stage was a joke, I said earlier it would have been better if they left that stage out. Apparently the seedings were already done before the tournament started which is why group winners are in the same group together.

The BBCI's stance on DRS is retarded.

So, the group stage really didn't have any purpose other than making money. Wonderful.
Pre-deciding the super-8 matches before the tournament even began is laughable.

T20, which is supposed to grow the appeal of cricket might end up killing it.

There are no fast bowlers, no real quality spinners, batsmen have inferior techniques, pitches are getting flatter all over, the no.1 test teams can only win at home, players want to play in the circus that is IPL rather than for their countries, no West Indies.......Cricket, the game, is dying a slow death.

IMO It's too fashionable to deride IPL. Why blame the players if they can earn ten times the money playing IPL with the world's best players rather than playing test matches. It's not a favorable situation, but you just can't blame the Cricketers for looking at their personal interests and IPL for giving Cricketers some great money.

There's not a single bloke who'd reject the ten times the money and playing in some great crowds and great players.

Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with it if it wasn't being responsible for sapping out the other formats (which it is) even though I find it extremely annoying.

Do you have problem with the T20 format or just the IPL in specific? I tend to like it simply because I enjoy T20 for entertainment sake and the IPL brings the best of best together.

Its fun. You shouldn't take it that seriously
I have made my peace with T20 format I guess.

IPL can be much better but it is horribly mis-managed by people who are thinking too short term. Constantly changing teams won't develop a fan base. Too too many fixtures over a very short period of time. Not to mention the on going circus that accompanies the whole tournament. They have an opportunity to draw up a fantastic tournament since all the best players of the world line up to play in it

The format itself. IPL is just the epitome of why I dislike it.

Sure, as I said, I do get why people enjoy it, the players enjoy it and that's fine by me but ODI's and Test match cricket will slowly fade away owing to this format and as someone who enjoyed both ODI and Test cricket, it annoys me.

I never said anything about the players and their earnings. I blamed the administrators for trying to destroy the game.

There is no denying that IPL is an ongoing circus. First with Lalit modi, then with the farce auctions every year, rampant corruption, adding new teams, late night parties etc, etc. The Deccan chargers are the latest ones on sale. It has been only 5 years and already a couple of teams have been disbanded.

Actually I blame Kapil Dev and Zee for bringing in the ICL which led the BCCI to panic and the eventual formation of the IPL.

The final nail in the coffin for cricket will be the ICC bending over and awarding an international window for the IPL. The future might be IPL style leagues in all the cricket playing nations with a T20 WC every 4 years and the death of one day and test cricket. Mercenaries like Gayle going all over and donning a different shirt every 2 months. Do you know that in the champions league foreign players have decided to play for IPL teams because of money rather than their domestic teams?

Hopefully, we will produce more Naiwals, Koms, Anands etc. to divert some of the attention from cricket and keep giving sports loving Indian population someone to cheer for. No way in hell I am rooting for the Delhi Daredevils.

And the blame for T20 goes squarely on ICC's head. India did not even want to play before they were practically forced to participate in the inaugural T20 WC by ICC which we subsequently won ofcourse kick starting this juggernaut.

Cricket is boringggggggggg :D

The only thing worth watching are tests when India plays in England, Australia and South Africa. Those i love.

Tests at home are the worst.

ODIs are neither here nor there.

T20 is okayish. Just fun, not serious cricket.
