ICC World T20 2016

Sachin was an evolution in the game. Idk if Kohli is better or whatever, but the greatness of Tendulkar isn't just his performance over 20 years at the top, it's also how much he inspired and influenced the players that came after, especially in India.

Kohli is truly magnificent though.

Kohli absolutely destroyed "the finisher" Faulkner today. Amazing batsman.

Also let's not forget the way we bowled after they got 53 in four overs. Nehra swung the game in our favour with Khawaja's wicket. Surprised he's still bowling well.

Ya, was going to add this. Right from his younger days, Sachin carried a Billion people's expectations. The expectation when he used to come to bat and the shush when he got out was something else. At least till now, same pressure is not put on Kohli.

If there has to be one example of expectation from Sachin I recall reading an incident after the final match of Natwest trophy in 2002 in England which Yuvraj-Kaif won it against all expectations. When Kaif's family was asked about his heroics and how they felt, they answered, "When Sachin got out, we switched off and went for movie!" :D
I remember that Natwest final. I slept. Got up in the morning and saw we pulled off the biggest comeback which I ever remember.

The CA facebook page will be hijacked tonight. Expecting a lot of text talk and bile as usual.

Watson genuinely should've dropped that catch..
lol yes. When he was feeling very happy at that stunning catch, I was saying in my mind, "you will regret this!" Yuvi would have got out soon after anyway though.

Watson genuinely should've dropped that catch..

I think Yuvi's knock is being undervalued, he did what was needed when it was required. Probably got out at the right time too, mind, but the partnership between him and Kohli swung the game Indias way. Australia's total was probably 20 runs under par and the only way they were going to win that was chipping away with the wickets.

Thank god the arrogant pricks lost. Warner, Smith, Watson, Finch (Johnson too) all are pretty arrogant.

Watch us lose to WI now and Gayle doing Gangnam dance afterwards :nervous:

The world arrogant means having a sense of superiority or self-importance beyond reality and India's Virat Kohli is often labeled arrogant.
Well I say that's absolute rubbish because Virat Kohli is a genuinely superior and very important world class practicioner of his profession: scoring lots of runs in international cricket under the most intense pressure!
82 not out vs Aus in a knock out game... What an innings!!!! What a man!!!!
Virat Kohli - you are amazing and I LOVE YOUR ARROGANCE!!!!

Told you Kohli is best in T20

A lot of twos were missed due to Yuvraj's pain. The partnership lost its momentum and fortunately Yuvraj got out before the run rate got out of hand. Dhoni being rapid between wickets put less pressure on Kohli to force the issue

Can you not save the stupid comparisons for later and enjoy the victory for once?

Absolutely over the moon! Still can't believe what I've just witnessed. Toughest son of a bitch I've seen in a while. Absolute warrior.

Love his attitude. Guy hates losing and absolutely thrives under pressure. Fantastic.

So basically arrogance is fine when one of your own has it but everyone else is a tosser...

He is phenomenal under pressure. Stays calm even whilst facing the best attacks. His ground strokes are a treat to watch. But what sets him apart is his attitude. He's a winner. There's a lot of Cantona in him.

Aussies have always been arrogant.

But i hated only Ponting from the earlier generation. Warne if I stretch it a bit. Hayden, GIlly, Martyn, McGrath. Even Lee was likeable once he stopped his antics from 2003 wc (those celebrations).
Tbf Kohli, Dhawan, Rohit are also arrogant...

Kohli has actually been pretty calm (or rather calmer) for 2 years or so now. Hardly swears and doesnt lose his head much. Havent really seen Dhawan being arrogant tbh. Rohit is a prick though yes. Most others like Raina, Dhoni, Jadeja are all pretty nice people.

What has Finch done? Seems an alright bloke.

Yeah came in a flow. :p He is decent enough. Him Maxi and Faulkner are like the only players i like in this team :p

Gilly was the only one who showed opposition any respect out of those lot. Mcgrath was a notorious bad loser.

In hindsight it looks like it set us up well but Kohli's innings doesn't happen every time.

Wow, just wow. This guy is already a T20 GOAT, and is well on his way to becoming a Great in all formats. That running between the wickets between Dhoni and Kohli in Watson's over (I think) was what swung it for me. You knew we would get home safe once both of them found their stride. Silly thing by Smith to not save Watson's over and probably should have let Zampa finish his 4 before the 17th over.

Also a huge credit for our bowlers. Bumrah and Ashwin got serious tonkings in their first overs and came back really well. Nehra (I always underestimate him), did brilliant as well.

Bat second, dismiss Gayle out early and we are well on our way to facing NZ (Unless Root/Buttler have something to say about it) in the final.

Just too happy atm, don't care for all these comparisons.

Not what I said.

Kohli consistently delivered against his posture and personna and so is not arrogant.

The Aussie team of the 90s-00s are labelled arrogant.

Are you now saying they weren't arrogant as their dominance was real and their superiority span three consecutives World Cups?

To be fair, India can chase any score down when he's batting. Insanely good but also suffers from having odd looking eyebrows. Leave them alone for Christ's sake.

Love the unexpected twist that this post took:lol:

You knew Australia were 20 short...even then without Kohli, India wouldn't have chased 160 today. I can't stand the guy...but, his talent and big match mentality is undeniable.

The man simply doesn't know what pressure is. Incredible record across all the formats and not just in India.

FFS thus usual Kohli> Tendulkar crap.

In tests? LOL

In ODIs - Nope. Tendulkar carried a much crappier team for much loner, and had to face much better bowlers in tougher conditions

In T20s - Of course, but I'd argue a peak Tendulkar in T20s would have been as destructive as the likes of Gayle, but still have a much better average.

Virat can get there, but Tendulkar played for so long that he transcended eras.

Will vote for @MJJ in every match.

 Excellent!

Dude! Kohli averages something insane like 90+ when chasing in T20s! T20s! 9 times out of 10 he is going to win you the match in high pressure situations.
