ICC World T20 2016

The sad thing is, there won't be any change to the team that faces Australia now. One of Dhawan/Yuvraj/Raina needs to dropped. Our batting was woeful. Absolutely woeful.
Dhawan should be the one dropped imo. Raina was ok today and Yuvi did fine against Pakistan. But Dhawan has that reputation for growing into a tournament so most likely he won't be. Trouble is, we might be out by then.

Fielding is what disappointed me most today. We've been generally pretty good but some real blunders this game.

What was Ashwin saying in his MOTM interview? He wanted Pandya to do a mankad?
Yeah  He probably din't realize that their non striker was not all that keen on running.

He also said to bowl a bouncer outside off. Well that worked well, better than Nehra's plan of bowling full tosses to the middle of the bat.

Best bit was Nehra giving long arsed advice to Pandya and Dhoni sprinting over immediately after warning Pandya not to do what Nehra says.

Dhawan should go. So should Pandya in truth. If we're going to play on turners might as well give Harbhajan a go. Pity Mishra isn't there.

Yeah, I think so too. I just looked at the squad we had and Rahane is the only recognized batsmen in our squad not playing in the XI. The rest are bowlers. That has to be like the silliest decision ever.

Yeah, fielding was atrocious. I genuinely din't expect them to be so poor.

Yeah one of the openers should be dropped for Rahane. Yuvi and Raina can both bowl so keep them in the side.

Power went off with 6 needing of 4 balls and my phone battery discharged at same time :mad::mad:
People yelling from neighborhood and firecrackers confirmed the victory though. Didn't know till now it was THAT dramatic.

Imagine not loving t20 cricket, I worked from 9 to 5 today and came back home to enjoy that match. Feel bad for all the people who in their quest to be the purists are missing out on this.

I don't think we can play worse than we did today even if we tried hard, shocking performance in all aspects but a win is a win.

What an amazing match to watch in the stadium. Incredible scenes especially at the end when it went for referral (they didnt show the 3rd umpire replays in stadium). Proper suspense and elation to follow. A game to remember for a while. The poor Bangla supporters were sobbing uncontrollably outside

And no way was this match fixed. They just bottled it

They just did a 10 minute section of the result (mainly the final over) on the Verdict on Sky Sports. All 3 of the experts (Butcher, Prior and Bob Willis) summed up all our reactions to a tee.

I don't think I've ever seen a bottle job like that. And I'm an England fan.

They needed 2 runs to win off 3 balls. fecking hell they only needed 1 run off 3 to at least tie it and take it to a super over. One batsman being braindead and trying to hit it for 6 when a single will do, okay that's stupid but I've seen it happen loads of times. Chris Jordan did it against South Africa last week. But the other batsman Moeen Ali, kept his cool and hit the single needed.

But for his parter to watch that, and then do the same thing?! Madness, absolute madness. And that's without even getting into the idiot who instead of just legging it to the other end to steal a run off the last ball and take the tie, was stop start, jogging and then didn't even dive. And the over was shite too, it wasn't even good bowling

West Indies and New Zealand are the only teams to really impress so far, they should make the final and then it's anyones game.

Lot of stern words for Pandya in this thread for good reason but I liked what I saw from him in the last IPL. Biggest issue for him is his lack of international experience which has showed in the first 3 matches. He's already India's best fielder and with experience/time his solid ability with the bat in the late overs will show. Hardly the next Ishant, younger (just 22 ffs) and much more potential. Not sure how he will develop over time with the ball but India need to develop an all-rounder like that.

22 is old enough to know whether he's got it. He's an average medium pacer who barely swings the ball and can't bowl yorkers. Batting wise, he's no better than Jadeja. Technique is awful and the best you can hope for is a few slogs. Ishant is a far better bowler.

Why did Ashwin get MOTM? Why not Dhoni?
No one really deserved it. Dhoni was average in his captaincy, but that stumping was probably good enough to bring his name up.

He's absolutely lightning quick with his stumpings. Eyes on batsman's feet, and gone in a flash. I don't remember watching a keeper who does that so regularly.

How can no one deserve MOTM? It was a splendid cricket match and one team won in the end. Of course, somebody deserves to win the Man of the match that was exhilarating.

People here are too quick writeoff India's players after watching them in two-three matches. I wouldn't bother about them, he's a good talent and someone who's worth investing in.

It was a great game that was due to a comedy of errors. Picking the best out of all the performances yesterday wasn't a really interesting task.
