ICC T20 World Cup 2022

Well played Miller & SA. They're looking in good form.
Their bowling is good but I don't think they were that good batting wise. One of the luckiest innings played by Markram today. But again I don't think India are that good either.

Bhuvi too wayward all night. That plus lack missing sitters (catches and run outs) made sure we couldn't defend that total.

Match was more or less lost in the first innings though

Dinesh karthik the biggest culprit I would say. 5 off 16 balls and trying to defend spinners and then not even staying till the final overs to help SKY was shocking.

The idea that India's batters are so good they don't need to consider the likes of Shaw, Samson, Kishan etc is wild to me. They actually have some massive hitters and yet the ones they pick are often classical elegant Test batsmen. Very odd.

Could not agree more. Only thing I can think is the think tank with Rohit as captain is old school and missing out on India's best T20 talent

Yea don't even want to analyse our batting. Was a total shit show all over barring SKY

Hard to overlook that our batting has collapsed within the first 10 against both top quality sides we have faced so far. No chance in this WC if Rohit n KL keep this up.

Indian white ball batting is stuck in 2005-11.

Too many guys who can only bat slowly for their averages.

I don't know about that - Markram's innings was extremely flukey and the game was still very tight.
Yes it was, but without 150 on the board, you're always playing catchup, besides South Africa still had plenty of batting to come

I don't think their lower order is that strong. Plus on this wicket both today's and Zim-Pak proved that lower order batsmen can't slog their way out to runs. In general 145 would have won us the game I believe but with SA at 40/3 after 10, we could have defended this. If SA would have lost 2 more wickets before 15 over mark, then I don't think they would have chased this down. I think we did not react well to their counter attack after drinks. The dropped catch was huge, compounded by the run out misses.

How did England lose to these mugs?
I know they didn't bat or bowl well, but with Livingstone and Ali needing under 10 an over I would have backed them to get it more often then not.
Don't know if DLS takes in to account of who is playing or just runs required, balls and wickets left.

This would have been a game if someone had stuck around to play with Tucker.

Forecast doesn't look good for Brisbane tomorrow. Seems to get drier as the day goes on so England-NZ might just be okay but Afghanistan look like having a 3rd washout

If they cover the ground overnight tonight they should get game time in the first game, although probably reduced a little.

Lorcan Tucker has a shout alongside Sam Curran as England’s best players after today. Certainly done more for our qualification chances than our top order batters have.

Yeah that Tucker innings probably stopped Australia from going ahead on NRR. England should be relatively happy with how that game went in the end. They have the advantage of playing the final game of the group as well so will know exactly what's needed. Obviously have to beat NZ first though which will be a tough ask given how they've started.

Hate to by cynical but there's no way that Williamson didn't know at all that he has dropped the ball on ground.

Absolutely no way

He was trying it on.

Anyway, the Brisbane skyline looks fantastic. Here's me thinking it's a small town.

imagine a poker game between williamson and ashwin? there’d be 9 kings.

That looked a good score to me, particularly with our spin options on this deck.

RRR at 10 already and with the wasteman Kane at the crease. Congrats England.

I've only been part watching and assumed NZ had gotten back into the game, then saw 83% England on WinViz. Williamson only going at a run a ball and letting the RR get up to 12 is putting a lot of pressure on his partners.

Phillips isn’t going much better. England have bowled/fielded very well. Still Neesham and Mitchell to come who can do real damage but it’s looking good at the moment.

I'm quite sure it won't be that one sided.

All I'm hoping for a close contest and lots of drama. Is it too much to ask from a WC T20 game?

They will do this 6 balls out with Phillips and Neesham there. Needs two quick ones.
