Depends on the toss. If eng bat first against Pak or NZ on a dew condition they may struggle.Everyone scrapping for the chance to get pummelled by England. Today shows what some intent at the top can achieve, too late for India unfortunately.

Yes I do, that’s why I said some intent. Didn’t expect India to come out and smash New Zealand like they did Scotland but letting the likes of Satner and Sodhi just bowl to them like Warne and Murali was bad. Fair enough the opposition is on top but intent isn’t just boundaries but urgency, rotation of strike and turning ones into twos to put some pressure back on them. You realize the bowling opposition.
You realize the bowling opposition.
India are not 110 level bad irrespective of who the bowling attack is. I will even say Pak bowled and fielded better than NZ and yet we scored 150. We just were pathetic against NZ.agree with this - lot of hyperbole from comms on TV as if the only thing that changed was India's approach. It's the opposition and it remains to be seen if India can do that against decent teams.
It's not a myth. The NRR is calculated on a cumulative weighted basis. If you score at 10 RPO for 20 overs, that's 120 balls added to the denominator and 200 runs to the numerator. If you chase 80 runs in 8 overs, despite it being the same run rate(10 RPO), it adds 10 RPO only for 48 balls, and that makes a smaller difference to your overall.
However, the bowlers have done such a good job today that the NRR will get impacted, but for literally the same diference in run rate in the same match, doing it batting first vs second will give a better yield.
And then possibly one of England, South Africa and Australia out despite winning 4/5 games.Kind of crazy that india could make the World Cup semifinal having beaten Afghanistan,Namibia and Scotland

That was not my point. India were poor against NZ is my point, hence said India are not 110 level bad. Yes they may not have score 200 against NZ but should and could have scored 150 plus had they shown more intent.Doesn't matter though. The bowling opposition here is club level at best facing pros at the top of the food chain. 150th best batsman in India would have tonked them.
I don’t know why people are expecting NZ to lose to Afghanistan. I know strange things have happened in sport but this one is just highly unlikely.
Yeah whatever happened to the Super 8 format? Might have played out better than the current format they’re pushing.Kind of crazy that india could make the World Cup semifinal having beaten Afghanistan,Namibia and Scotland
Fml, this has been a disastrous tournament for us. I love Gayle but I love Ambrose more and ever since he mouthed about universe boss against sir curtly, this was done for us.End of an era today. I hope we at least get an entertaining performance today.

It has been a disaster that you could have seen was always very possible, but what can you do? Every team has crappy tournaments every now and then. Just hope we rebuild well.
Gayle goes out with a wicket!
And goes to jump hug Marsh. What a guy
Legend.
agreeAll a bit nauseating tbh, there’s a World Cup match going on and it felt like a charity game.

South Africa with a big acceleration at the end to get a very good score.
