ICC T20 World Cup 2021

Horrible tournament for Bangladesh. The batting looks so timid/scared.

Bit early to be putting Aus in the semi's.

Quite a bit to happen in this group.

Yea - I can see England beating SA and WI beating AUS, leaving SA as the qualifier - unless Australia overcome the NRR deficit today.

Geez 62/7. BD having another stinker. This is going to boost Aussies NRR by a lot.
Looking slim for SA now. Can only hope WI do the job for us and win against Aussie, as I don't see us winning against England, but stranger things have happened.

I think we will beat Aus. We’re due at least one good performance this tournament and I can’t see it coming today.

Great chance for Aussies to improve their NRR.

Bangladesh have been a complete disaster, losing to Scotland in the qualifiers was a warning sign of how bad they were going to be.

Shades of the England 2015 World Cup campaign when we just looked a mess.

And this is the team ranked 6th in the T20 rankings?

They were hovering around the 10th position, but boosted their rank significantly by beating NZ and Aus for the first time ever just months ago. Mind you, both teams sent backup/reserve XIs.

Tbf to BD, they are a fairly difficult team to beat at home - preparing slow, rank turner pitches. But conversely a poor travelling side (and few teams invite them to tour as well).

A win with 82 balls to spare !

Bloody hell that is horrific from Bangladesh.

South African fans must be furious watching that.

Out of SA's hands now, although I am curious to know how much they would have to beat England to knock them out.

We could easily end up having this weird situation where a team on 8 points is knocked out in Group 1 but a team on 6 qualifies in Group 2

I misjudged this Windies team pre-tournament. They have no spark or wicket takers.

The batting line up on its day could chase anything so they might survive, but it looks like a team desperately in need of fresh blood/ideas.

Man we are so so so terrible. Watching this team is disheartening. It depresses me. I can't wait for this tournament to be done to get some new blood in the team.

Top order batting comes good for a change.

What a brilliant partnership!

Charith Asalanka has had a sublime tournament.

Averaging 50+. S/R close to 150.

Warner. Finch. Morgan.

Time for SL to now give Christopher Henry Gayle some runs? :wenger:

Could still be game on here - WI batting line up can be anything.

Hasaranga is going to be an expensive buy in the IPL auction, I think.

Also - what are WI doing? Seem to have no interest in winning this.

@Dudu

Following the match only when I can, family is saying the new bowler is someone who looks like someone we should have played earlier in the tournament - do you agree?

Dasun Shanaka looks like he's from the Darren Sammy school of captaincy.. does feck all

The new fella (Binura) is handy medium pace option, but he's replacing Lahiru K who was worth persisting in the lineup imo.

Lahiru is absolutely rapid and capable of bowling 150+. He blew away every team in the 1st Round, and although messed up in some pressure moments (notably vs SA), but you have to remember he's still 24 and never been exposed to this kind of crunch situations before. It's a learning experience. Hopefully he learns a bit more control, because there's so much potential there.

I personally don't like Chameera that much, he can barely control a ball. Every match is a 30+ runs

Quite a underwhelming tournament for Chameera. Himself and Hasaranga have been almost singlehandedly carrying the team for the past year or so.. perhaps he's a little burnt out? Hopefully he shakes it off.
