Ronaldo's ego
Incorrectly predicted the 2020 US Election
1 down, 9 to go.
Not all his fault. Instead of providing with him a strong character as coach/manager, BCCI bent over and appointed yes men
They don't turn it on regularly even in IPL. It's a known fact Jadeja is an ordinary bowler even in IPL. Pandya has been below par even in IPL this season, Rahul is just a flat track bully. Rohit Kohli has been off form even in IPL. Even our bowlers barring bumrah haven't been that great in IPL.Why can they turn it on in the IPL? easier bowlers?
If you had given us 50 overs to bat or more then 140 was possible. It's only 110 but the field should be far more attacking? maybe to save run rate if AGH beat NZ? today though it's strange really feels like no fight from India. I thought once Rohit got dropped they would go on to hit at least 140/50+
Most of the people in the team didn't really turn it on in the IPL either (the UAE portion at atleast)Why can they turn it on in the IPL? easier bowlers?
India have to beat Afghanistan for that... it's already over.. will be sealed on the 3rd.Excellent from NZ. The NZ v Afghanistan game probably decides who gets through now.
AgreedThis is India's 2007 ODI WC moment. Change of captaincy and some senior guys need to be kicked out.
The following 5 years were incredible as an Indian cricket fan. Don't see the next dhoni in this team. I think IPL is another big issue where players don't get any rest. BCCI is only interested in money. Some tough decision required. This is India's 2007 ODI WC moment. Change of captaincy and some senior guys need to be kicked out.

We definitely have a lot of fresh blood like we did back then that can straight away get into the team. Need to move on from Kohli Rohit etc in T20.The following 5 years were incredible as an Indian cricket fan. Don't see the next dhoni in this team. IPL is massively overhyped. What people don't take into account is that there are only 4 overseas players per team and most of those are usually batsmen. At best you'll have have a couple of high class bowlers per team, the rest are cannon fodders. You don't get that kind of respite at tournaments against high class bowling lineups.
India on the verge of exit.
NZ v Afg could be interesting.
Pressure is always there if you want to represent India. Problem is most of them don't care because they are all getting great money from IPL and advertisement. This indian team was without any preparations required for an ICC event.Just too much pressure is put on them by so-called fans. The trolling and abuse from the fans after the Pakistan defeat was horrific.
Indian batsmen are playing without the freedom we generally associate with these players. Fear of losing is the issue.
Of course, they care enormously.Pressure is always there if you want to represent India. Problem is most of them don't care because they are all getting great money from IPL and advertisement. This indian team was without any preparations required for an ICC event.
The team selection is horrific. We are still going with tried and tested instead of giving young performing players a chance to shine. That's exactly how we won the first T20 World Cup. On that occasion, the selection was a fluke as BCCI selected a second string team as they weren't taking the tournament seriously. That became a blessing in disguise.Of course, they care enormously.
India had the best preparation out of all the teams by being used to the conditions and they had a few weeks rest prior to the start of the tournament.
Correct, but what might actually happen is Rohit be made captain and things actually get worse. We definitely have a lot of fresh blood like we did back then that can straight away get into the team. Need to move on from Kohli Rohit etc in T20.
He's very good in the IPL for a couple of seasons now.The Indian side on paper is still an excellent side although still bemused by Pandya playing when 5 bowlers already in the team. Thought it would be better playing a batsmen.
Not heard of him before this but can Indian fans explain why Varun Chakaravathy was selected? Did he have a good IPL?
