ICC T20 World Cup 2021

Completely understand what you're saying, you're a good poster and I know you'll have written this with the best intentions.

I just think it's a strange hill to die on. It's a 10-second gesture that involves no effort. Whatever you feel about BLM, the message is the right one.

Just don't see someone can justify making the effort to not support it, really.
Fair enough. Appreciate your point.

Pak batting looks really average after openers.

The middle order batting is definitely their biggest issue. Heavily reliant on Babar/Rizwan/Zaman to score the bulk of runs.

ooh that’s not nice. Hope he’s ok.

Yep. A lot depends on the top 3 to score the bulk of the runs. Get them early & the middle order could collapse cheaply.

Since WI are probably going home after today, I’ll be adopting Pakistan as my second team for the rest of the tournament. I supported them in the Champions Trophy final so this will be a natural extension of that.

As much as I want us to win, Asif shouldn’t bat if he’s not right. Take him off, his health is far more important.

Very good win! Wobbled a little in the middle but good stuff from Asif & Malik. Bowlers were excellent again.

Puts us in a nice position in the group.

Well done to you guys. Semi spot looking very good.

Haider Ali looked great in one of the u19 WC -- can he come into the 11?

Yeah, there was talk he would be in the middle order with Malik/Hafeez missing out but they went with experience. Also, Hafeez’s bowling probably gave him the edge.

Assuming Pakistan chase this fairly comfortably...

NZ v India next Sunday is basically a QF despite beingthe second group game  **

**With the caveat that Afghanistan are capable of beating one of the 'big teams' on their day.

Very much looking this way. NZ v India is a defacto Quarter Final.

Hope AFG (or some unlikely upsets from Nam or Scot) can keep the group alive for a while longer.

Well played Pak again. Ind NZ would be a KO, although can't write afghan off. Have a bad feeling India are going to say bye bye in the group stages itself.

Bangladesh more than capable of giving England a very good game here. Looking forward to it.

What planet is the Bangladesh captain living on? Why would you bat first after winning the toss? :wenger:

Good review.

Batting first is not the way to go.

I can't tell if England are just this good or they've just played two crap teams thus far, but man do they look imperious. For all the jokes about Morgan being a specialist captain he actually is setting this team out superbly even if he isn't performing himself.

Number of established teams have regressed.. the small teams have become better but not enough to compete. Been a crap World Cup so far.

Appalling running by Bangladesh so far. Could have been 4 in the last two overs.

England do have a weakness against left arm spin for what it's worth.

Yep, QdK comes out of this looking really bad, especially considering the history of our country specifically.

Got to admire how Woakes bowls across all three formats. One of the smartest bowlers around.

It's an unpopular choice these days, but I would want Root in this team, and at no. 3.

Effortless for England to reach 50/1 in the powerplay. Not even in second gear.
