ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Archer being rested 2 ODIs into his ODI career, guess he's in the squad.

Hasan Ali apart, Pakistan's bowling is incredibly toothless. How the feck is Yasir Shah still getting games?

England are something else when the pitch is flat.

It helps when our openers put in a decent shift to take some of the pressure off too, let’s people like Buttler really go for it with less pressure.

What an innings by Buttler.

Maybe it's the pitch but Pakistani bowling looks very average.

Good century from Fakhar. Pakistan need to up the run rate soon.

ODI cricket is just stupid these days.

For sure. The IPL has shown how entertaining a tournament can be when theres something in the pitches for the bowlers. Guaranteed this upcoming world cup will be played on roads.

I said it a while ago but ODI cricket has become a bit of a farce.

One thing I will say is that I hope we don't get pitches like this during the world cup, cricket is more fun when there is an even contest between bat and bowl.

So this world cup isn't going to be fun for bowlers then. Small grounds and flat pitches.

England become huge favourites if the pitches are flat. In fact, even the Aussies could be touted as 2nd favourites if the pitches stay like this.

Hope ECB aren't in charge of the pitches. They'd just make pancakes and outpower everyone else.

Excellent death bowling from England.

ICC can do whatever they want but these are the pitches you will get in British summer, if anything they might become more flat because we haven't had much heat yet

Not completely sure I understand picking Archer for this squad to find out what he can add and then playing him in one rain affected game and then not playing him again.

Pakistan have a great chance today, England resting their best Batsman and Bowler (Buttler & Rashid)

Must be trying to wrap him up in cotton wool, now they need to figure out who to drop.

Seems daft. The bloke is 24 and barely has 800 deliveries in his list A career. Why not try to build up some momentum in this format before throwing him into a pressure cooker tournament?

I agree, I would have played him in all 5 ODI

Second game in a row, 300+ scored against England and you have people against including Archer.

It's the pitches and smallish boundaries rather than the bowling. Everybody's bowlers are going to get some tap over the next few months.

What's par score on these pitches, 380?

Don't think we play here enough to know England tbh. England defended 370 against West Indies with ease 2 years ago and chased 120 odd against Ireland 3 down, but other than that there hasn't been a completed game at Bristol since 2010.

T20 has completely changed cricket.. short ball well wide of off stump and the batsman just flicks it over fine leg for 4.

And our selectors did not pick Pant. If the pitches stay like these at the WC then not picking Pant will look even more stupid.
