ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Look if that dopey New Zealand fielder didn’t throw the ball onto Stokes’s bat and got it to his wicket keeper instead we wouldn’t be having this meltdown now. New Zealand only have themselves to blame.

So where does this rank in terms of cricket finals? For me it's second best after the WT20 one in 2016.

Timing of the comment wasn't great and can see why people think it could be racist, but he's explained himself and can understand where he's coming from now.
I don't. Imagine accusing someone of anything as heinous as racism based on something as basic as that. Why people think it's acceptable I'll never know. Is that fair on the poster?

Forget cricket finals. This was one of the best cricket game to have been played. Fantastic spectacle that was.

The drama was too much in this one, i think this was the best.

Best final I've seen at international. Partly because most WC Finals have been fairly one sided affairs post 92.

The best final I've seen overall is still Hampshire vs Somerset for the T20 blast in 2010 though. Went on towards midnight.

I personally think he threw at the wrong end. Should have thrown at the bowlers end, he might have actually gotten him out!

You think england would have won if not for stokes deflecting the ball for 4 runs whilst running ?
How is that cheating? He literally couldn't see the ball. It's a massive slice of luck, yes, but cheating would imply he knew what he was doing.

At the end of the day we got massively lucky but that can happen if you find yourself in a close situation in sport. NZ had chances to be more positive at the end of their innings and potentially none of this happens. They didn’t deserve to lose but it goes like that sometimes.
Best post in the thread for a long time.

Unfair advantage when you pick the best players from other countries though. Should at least rename to Rest of The World.
As opposed to your paltry 1bn population. Poor India.

Feck me, I think the only sane Indian fan on here is KM.

If these people really believe he did it on purpose Sokes deserves the next 50 world cups. That was some matrix level stuff then.

Even if that were true there’s still more people in India than the rest of the cricketing nations combined. I guess it doesn’t mean much since a country full of sheep farmers beat India.

Where can I see this? I need to see it.

Our inclusiveness makes me very happy. Modern Britain is a glorious place given our past behaviour in our former colonies.

There's several far more legitimate reasons why he feels this way about Archer. He didn't move to England until he was 18. Until the ECB changed its rules 7 months ago he wouldn't even have been eligible to play. He just bowled the winning over. You have decided though that the reason he's selected Archer is because he's black. And now he's explained why he feels that way about Archer, and why he also feels the same way about KP, you're still TELLING him it's because, deep down, he's still a wee bit racist. Unbelievable.

With the greatest respect you're just showing that you don't have the slightest clue about the issue you've interjected yourself into, but ok.

But I'm glad that you're here to tell us what is and isn't racist and we've got the issue sorted now. Glad to have it all solved, and I'll be sure to let the world know so we can all save some time in future.

It makes me proud people want to come here for a better life and we welcome them in.

Immigrants have enriched Britain in many ways, today is an example of that.

I'm an England fan, and probably in a minority of one right now. But it really turns me off when I see archer playing for England. The lad was born and bread in the West Inidies. That's where he learnt his cricket skills, yet here he is winning the world Cup for England.
Wow and yeah, i would hope you in a minority of 1.

Being from the same background, really proud to see guys like Moeen and Rashid in the team and play big roles too. Just hope some of our lot can start breaking into football too someday, hopefully in my lifetime.

I wonder what knock on affect for the Ashes this will have. Can't decide if it'll be a good thing, or might make us take our eye off the ball.

Excellently put. In the world we live in today, it's sad to see it's a stick to beat us with.

India have a population of 1.3bn people FFS, you should have this thing on lockdown

Even if that were true there’s still more people in India than the rest of the cricketing nations combined. I guess it doesn’t mean much since a country full of sheep farmers beat India.

 exactly. Richest board. 1 billion talent pool. Best T20 league.

You think everyone in India has equal opportunities?

Exactly and I love that a traditionally stuffy game and organization select players from different backgrounds to wear the three lions.
