ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

That rebound off the bat is going to haunt the thrower forever. Probably thinking he should have just held onto the ball and let Stokes take the second run.

I hate England. I hate the fact that they won.

But, Ben Stokes... my god he was so fecking good. Its a travesty he wasnt player of the series. Yuvraj 2011 esque series.

Guys let's not discuss that Archer thing here. If any of you feel so strongly about this then I'll move the posts to current event forums.

England’s four year process of positive cricket gave them the edge in the end with the boundary rule.

Cos this thread isn't the place to discuss this. And it's neither the forum.

Then warn the guy who decided that the only player he has an issue with is the black guy with a British Dad then.

Said feck all about Stokes, Roy, or even Morgan. It's just the black guy he has an issue with playing for England.

No racism involved though...

Still can’t believe that Boult misfield and the 6 off the bat from an overthrow on the last over! Incredible. Honestly couldn’t write it.

Oh you too? Those players you mentioned all learnt there cricketing trade in the English system. Archer did not. That was the point I was making.

I hadn't seen the post but if you've such a problem with that post then do report it(which you haven't). If you want to discuss this topic then do it in current events forum as it has wider connotations here. I can move the posts if you want.

@KM I apologise for taking it off topic. I will drop it now. I've had two posters accouse me of being a racist, so it got my back up.

Martin Guptill. What a tournament. Horseshit with the bat. Ran out Dhoni with some incredible fielding in the SF. It was a great throw - could it have hit the wickets from 70 yards? Chance to redeem himself, got run out. Poor Martin.

Excellent point. Something that can definitely be looked at as like you said it's a bit of a shame players having to exclude themselves from celebrations.

The other plus would be it’d annoy the daily mail readers moaning that those muslamics are imposing shania law on our good old English boys.

Keep playing more. Surely the longer it gets probability of a tie gets lesser.
How about both teams field at the same time,. And both teams bat at the same time. and both teams bowl at the same time. Team with the most at the end of the super-duper over wins

Don't think it was racist(now that I've read the post) but the timing was weird. Your nation has won the WC and you were posting that!

It is just a game of cricket.
Don't take it so seriously and enjoy what was such a fantastic spectacle.

When the West Indies and other nations are struggling so much in Test Cricket, I think there is a worthwhile debate.
He is a British citizen with an English passport. He wasn't even in the Barbados system when he moved to Sussex. It wasn't until he moved to Sussex that he really kicked on and became the player he now is. If the situation was reversed this wouldn't even be a discussion.

Yes. I'm aware.

And my point is that the fact you single Archer out rather than, say, the guy who played for Ireland for six years or Roy, or Stokes speaks volumes.

It was 26 boundaries to 17. But what happens if there's rain and due to duckworth Lewis, NZ have to score say 120 runs to win and they score 119 forcing a tie. How will the boundaries rule for the superover work then ?

Yes, I accpet the timing come off weird. Should have made post else where.

Thanks for not reading anything sinster into it though. I assure you and others nothing racist was intended.

Its so weird when people "hate" nations. I genuinely don't get it. I've never hated a sporting nation, even the England-Germany rival felt tame. The home nations also didn't feel anywhere near something like United-Liverpool either..

Unless I am mistaken there is no tie in a D/L game. In the example you gave NZ would have lost the match by a single run

Still amazed by the turnaround after the loss against Australia. Got so much shit from the media and other fans & the way this team performed in the last 3 weeks is incredible. Lost the toss in both the semis & finals and still won

There's a fair amount of historical baggage tbf.

The posters who deem it acceptable to make frivolous accusations of racism should be under threat of warning, not this guy, even if the timing was poor and his point naff!

They scored more boundaries in super over. Nz would have won if they counted 4and 6 differently and gave sixes as a tie breaker rule followed by fours.

History means a lot mate, especially with India-England and West Indies-England.
