ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Morgan is Irish, no?
A Dub if I'm not mistaken.

Jofra has an English father and a British passport so I don't see the fuss about him. I think the ECB rules that were stopping him playing were stupid rather than his inclusion being controversial.

Bairstow a doubt for feck sake. This opening partnership is the bedrock that England build there innings on.

England's Cricket World Cup final against New Zealand on Sunday will be shown live on free-to-air television on Channel 4.
Then some good news.

Awesome Awesome final. NZ vs England, will be a treat!

I wasn't too keen on continuing to watch the WC after Pakistan got out but will try to watch as much of the final as I can. Two likable teams, one for being nice guys and the other for playing positive cricket.

The pitch will surely play a big part, if it's similar to the one between India and NZ then NZ will win, if it's more batting friendly then England.

Not exactly. Free to air until 1.15 then they switching to F1. After 1.15pm it will be on more4.

Think channel 5 or ITV should have gone for it. BBC obviously have Wimbledon, so I doubt they would bother with two sporting events.

The whole stadium was really nervous at the mid innings break . The quick start from Roy just changed everything. This team just doesn't do cautious though. Those sixes of Smith were incredible

Was it channel 4 or 5 that use to have cricket live 10-15 years ago?

Great PH levels.

More 4 is still free though if you have a digital TV or a digibox. I wondered what they were doing with the F1.

They really were. The look on Smith's face as the 3rd one went over his head was meme worthy.

This was just after the drinks break and it had started to rain so I was hoping that Roy would just get the overs done quickly but he had other ideas. Don't know how Jason Roy doesn't get picked for the ashes now

The word around both Sky and BBC is he will be given his chance.

Fantastic England! Showed exactly why they’ve been the dominate side in limited overs cricket the past 4 years. With performances like this they’ve taken the limited overs game to a new level. But, the NZ game will be extremely tough so I’m not counting my chickens just yet.

Alongside Roy & Bairstow I’ll shout out Joe Root as well, I know he can be a bit slow sometimes but there’s a lot to be said for having that calming influence come in at 3 averaging near enough 70 in this tournament. He’s so good at keeping the scoreboard ticking over with singles.

Also Stokes has been in good nick too

Roy gets 30% match day fine plus 2 demerits for his decent. I haven't got an argument with that. Probably right for not walking when he was given out even though it was clearly not out.

Yeah Root has been important to the innings building of the team. Stokes has turned up with some brilliant innings as well.

Root is a must in this english setup. Brings a lot of calmness to the team and can build the innings when Eng are in trouble. Quality batsmen.

You just can’t do that though. Go back to the days before reviews, when the umpire says it’s out then it’s out. You wouldn’t see a batsman just stand there because he knew he didn’t hit it

I think he’s saying that the punishment is probably right for what he did, not that he was right for not walking.

Channel 4. That was the peak of cricket.

Put the cricket on whilst doing things around the house. Test after test.

I've seen players behaving far worse than that not getting 2 demerit points. What do you want to happen to him? Do you want to ban him from the final for not being out?

Misunderstood the post, my bad. Agree that the punishment is enough

What's the umpire's fine for being shit at his job?
