ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

I'd be generally interested in knowing why you are having such a pop - I can only assume it's because I had the audacity to disagree with you or challenge what in my opinion (and remember that's what this forum is about) were some very arrogant and poor loser posts from some Indian fans.

England get slaughtered for being perceived as arrogant so why shouldn't we pick up on it with other nations?

Let me know if there's any words up there you're struggling with and I'll happily pop back and help out.

No problems with perceiving others as arrogant or what as Indians fans can be downright miserable but you insinuating that non English fans can't criticize or speak negatively about English cricket team cos we support United was pathetic. The fact that you don't think that there was anything wrong in that statement says a lot about you.

Aus can be 10-5 and still reach 250.

And Starc with that new ball will be brutal.

England definitely on top here.. obviously.. but Aus are the best side to handle a situation like this.

Yeah let’s stick with calling the Aussies the favourites particularly given how much of an advantage batting first is.

Also Carey for the breakout star of the tournament award?
Shaheen should be part of the conversation - 16 wickets in a debut tournament at the age of 19 is no mean feat.

But yeah, Carey has been pure class all the way through and his wicket keeping has been to a very good standard also.

If Australia get to 250 ya'll have to get used to some very, very nervy England fans over the next 4 hours.

Smith showing Kohli how it's done. Absolutely class innings so far.

Looks a belter of a pitch so I'm happy chasing anything under 300.

Nerves will be the problem!

Shame Wood has bowled like toilet otherwise I'd be tempted to get him on to just pepper Carey with a barrage of short stuff.

On the plus side, I think this is an absolute road when the ball stops nibbling around.

Carey looks like he'll get out to Rashid.

Smith I think is getting a hundred here.

This is also true but my level of confidence in England in big matches makes me fear Starc taking six wickets in his first over.

Let's be honest, we could take 7-0 from here and make a chase of 85 look difficult.

Australia promote carrey up the order instead of exposing Maxwell, india sends the likes of pants and pandya before dhoni.

Carey's their inform batsman tbf. Australia's middle and lower order has been a lot more exposed though, and they've all had a chance to play a knock.

That's because Australias two openers don't play like wankers and bat through till the 40th over.

 first time I ever read that openers should get themselves out. Rahul has been slow but sharma batted very well the whole tournament.

It's not about being in or out of form, it's about which player has the technique for a given situation. Maxwell is a hitter, like pandya. You dont send the two to recover from 3 wickets down.

Smith showing Kohli how it's done. Absolutely class innings so far.

Are we now going to pretend that Kohli doesn't know how to bat under pressure?

Smith had plenty of misses early on in his inning, he's made most of his luck so far but lets remember Kohlis decision was umpires call.

England's third and fourth choice pace bowlers have been awful so far. The pitch has eased up ofcourse but their line has been off.

I would argue there are two possible outcomes here. England absolutely trashing Australia or Australia going through.

Aus get 250 and two early wickets and I'll be burning bails.

I feel England has let their great start get away from them. These two look set to bat out majority of the innings.

It really is either one extreme or the other on here isn't it.

England are smashing them!

England have blown it!

Largely the difference between neutrals who think England are doing well and England fans who have suffered too long to trust.

Good recovery from these two. Need to get Australia to 250+ to make it competitive.

Carey and Smith have dragged Australia right back into the thick of things.

Finely balanced though. Feel if England get a couple wickets in the next 10 overs, while keeping the run rate below 4 (which they’re struggling to do), they’ll be favourites by the end of the innings.

As someone else said though, confidence in England’s batting vs Starc et. al is horrifically low!

England need to bring back Archer. Wood, Stokes, Rashid & Plunkett don’t look like they could take a wicket if there life depended on it

It has seemed that way for every team across the entire tournament

I think it's fair to say Plunkers, Stokes, Wood and Rashid haven't quite kept up the pressure Woakes and Archer built, but you also have to say there's a reason they're change bowlers, the ball/pitch can change and you must credit Smith and Carey who came in under immense pressure. Cricket's always been a game of phases, England have definitely still had the better of this game but the Aussies are keeping themselves in it as they're wanton to do (the bastards!).
