I want India to win but think Pakistan will. I doubt the Indian team will be able to cope with the expectation and pressure on them as No 1 team and hosts. Its alot of expectation on ones shoulders.

Sl probably have the most balanced side in the world. Certainly not the very best in any department but they are 2nd or 3rd best in the world in bowling, batting and fielding. And when they click (which they have being doing alot this tournament), they are very hard to beat.

I think everyone concedes in these conditions they are one of the favorites and have been considered so from the start. I think it's a shame that they've had to play England and New Zealand to get to the finals IMO. I think SA's knockout performance has been one of the shames of this WC. Had they played to potential in the knockout phase, this side of the draw would have been exciting like the other side.
I agree, but I suppose everyone is where they are on merit. It would be boring if we awarded the World Cup on seedings and predicted results.

I'm all for getting people from different countries to analyse but Tony Greg because he's always loved them, and Tom Moody because he coached them, are a bit too pro Sri Lanka. It isn't so annoying when it comes from someone whose actually from that country.

But this might work against Sri Lanka ... Every team needs to be tested on its journey else, it will run into problems when it meets proper big teams. Exactly what happened to us (ie Man United) in 1999/2000 when we steam rollered the PL only to struggle in Europe.

I think the SL lower middle order needs to be tested abit more else, if they find themselves 3 quick wickets down in the final, batsmen like Samaraweera, Silva and Mathews may struggle purely down to lack of match batting opportunities. As a batting unit they might just be abit 'undercooked' for a final.

SL get an extra day's rest though right? If India and Pakistan go at it for 100 overs non-stop, then any under-cooking could be offset by their opponent's tiredness.
SL top order has been just as heavy scoring in run getting as India top order. Dilshan, Thuranga and Sangakara have been cashing in big time. India SL final would be interesting. On this form, India would struggle as SL have a far superior bowling line up.
