ICC Cricket World Cup 2011

Pakistan Vs Windies
Australia Vs India

South Africa
Vs New Zealand
Sri Lanka Vs England

I'm nervous about Thursday's match against Australia, they're always very difficult opponents regardless of form and even the state of their team. I have belief in our team though, we've done quite well so far but still have aspects that need improving. I do fear a bit for our bowling, we'll really have to have the tactics spot on.

Also, absolutely brilliant to see Yuvraj Singh doing so well; 3 fifties, 1 century, a 5 wicket haul and wickets/decent economy rate in every match so far. I think the difficulties and injury/form problems of last year have made him re-evaluate his own game more, he seems to be respecting each delivery more and playing himself in. He's always been one of my favourite players so great to see him performing so well on the biggest of stages. We do need some of the other batsmen to step up now though, a couple of other match-winners to surface and make the difference.

Feck me, looks like all of Dhaka's shown up for this quarter final. There's hardly an empty seat in the house.

What's with the support for Pakistan? Have lot of Pakistanis travelled for this or are the locals just supporting them?

Really sad to witness the Windies like this. I know it's been this way for quite a well now, but to put up such an embarrassing showing on the biggest stage. That batting line up is just awful. Pollard is woeful. Dissapointed by Darren Bravo, thought he'd have showcased his talents better at the World Cup.

Er, Spin? What's that?

Disgraceful performance this. It's a strong word but you don't expect this kind of shoddy display in the knockout stages no matter what the team is. Ireland would have done better.

Its like watching a team of baseball players trying to play cricket. Home run or nothing.

What I don't understand is that EVERYONE says this, and yet they seem to play unintelligent cricket time and time again. And how can a team that's been a test playing nation for forever be so so bad against spin? Spin has played a huge part in cricket always.

Yes, inexplicable indeed. The whole model of WI cricket needs to be questioned. But then again, we're talking about the age of 20-20 cricket, why would these players slog the whole year round to play in alien/toiling conditions whereas they can slog nicely in T-20 game for a couple of hrs, and collect a bigger paycheck.

Playing spin is just one of the glaring problems in WI cricket. I might be wrong, but to me, they dont even look arsed to improve their ways which if true is the biggest problem of all.
