ICC Cricket World Cup 2011

YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Get in!!!!

David Lloyd saying 'up yours'? What was the context?

I think he said "Associate team saying up yours". It might be a reference to the ICC's decision not to have associate teams in the next WC, in which case he has every right to say it after today's performance.

It's fair enough to be honest - I think Ireland's aim to be a Test nation could be achievable.

Theres a world cup thread kid.

England pretty terrible though agreed.

Haha yeah caught that...wonder if the moral brigade will be out.

I hope not. One thing good about the English regarding cricket is their commentators. Really unbiased and classy.

Nothing much really. Something like "Everyones been questioning the lesser team's place at the WC. Ireland say 'up yours' to that"

Er or something alone those lines.

All credit to Mooney and Cuzack also for some excellent and cool batting. Bangalore has given us some crackers in the last week.

I think I speak for everyone* in Ireland when I say who cares.

*I do not speak for everyone.

Dunno about that. There's probably less cricketers in the whole of Ireland - at any level - than there are in any one of the English counties. We punch above our weight, though. Always have done, in all sports.

About Cricket Ireland

Don't know about that - if you take these things proportionally (taking into account the population difference) there is the potential there.

All the ODI side are professional.

I reckon it could be done - I would love to see it.

Yeah no way would Ireland let that go to the last over in normal circumstances :P

Don't be like that Brophs, it's not about the sport, it's about the opposition!

But in seriousness, really it was a great 45 minutes of sport and the reaction of the commentators and the posters in here is such a pleasant change to the usual post defeat vitriol and rage. Hats off to cwicket.
