The Taurean
looks like a chipmunk
ICC has released the logo for next WC.
Exactly. In fact Yemen should be one of our targets. That country needs to be good at a sport....besides camel racing, cricket's their best bet.
If it were Yemen instead of the Netherlands in India's Group, no way would India have progressed. Like in 2007.
Congratulations to each Indian in here.
You're so bad at this and you don't even realize it.
Just save yourself from embarrassment for God's sake.
Some people have the ability to wind up. You're just rubbish at it.
Congratulations to each Indian in here.
Indeed. Kumble is such a legend. And he was in the team not so long ago. Just like Sachin he's been a mentor to these players. Lovely stuffrightly said. certainly one of the many photos that is to be cherished.
You went didn't you?
How was it!!
Is this supposed to be funny?
Word up, <random Redcafe abuse>
Haha no I'd booked tickets to Bombay but never thought I'd be able to enter the stadium so cancelled them and chose to watch it with friends in Ggaon. A friend of mine who went anyway to Bombay from Ahmedabad got tickets right OUTSIDE the fkin stadium. For 5000.
Sucks to be me sometimes.
I saw the quarters against the Aussie cnuts. What a feeling that was...and yesterday. Beyond belief. Sachin should retire from ODI's now. Not much else left for him in this format. That's exactly when I'll stop watching them too.
Somehow, I can't bring myself to save the pics with Kohli, Yuvraj, Sreesanth and a few others..
Had moved for a bit last year. Will be moving again soon but I really don't want to. Shithole, absolute shithole.
You work and live in Gurgaon, amol?
Live here.
Doing my CA right now so not quite working yet.
Gurgaon is a bloody odd place in many ways though. When they were planning it out they decided 'we don't need to have transport in this place, people can just walk'. fecking loons. Thank God for the metro now there's actual some public transport around. Although I don't require it anymore much.
I saw Dhoni was fined 20% match fee and the rest of the side 10% for slow over rate
I bet that's taken the gloss off the victory for every one
Has potential, but it's a complete mess right now. I moved last year from VK. Now that was a good place to live in.
Yeah I saw that the Indians were fined for slow over rate.
You know what? No Indian gives a shit. Not with what is happening.
Had moved for a bit last year. Will be moving again soon but I really don't want to. Shithole, absolute shithole.
But you should. And cricket's very much a minority sport in England too. Which is why I think more should be done to improve its appeal. As I said, cricket's the only sport where the likes of Sri Lanka can and have become world champions. That wouldn't happen in any other sport with mass appeal. And we've lost the Windies... But yeah, it needs to be globalised because as it stands it's not far off from sumo wrestling or kabaddi. You know I'm right - homogeneity, isn't a good thing.
Another thing I want to say is feck off Tom Moody! You worthless piece of biased shit!
That run out could have been decisive. If he had caught the ball, Gambhir was a goner. Well who cares now!
My order of excitement to India winning a big tournament:
ICC World Cup - 2011
I will never forget this moment and will never get sick of watching this game over and over again. I can't believe it. They all did it for Sachin.
Natwest Series - 2002
I remember watching this game well into the night. We were chasing 326 against England and we were 147 for 5 with Sehwag, Ganguly, Dravid and Tendulkar back in the pavilion. Two young stars Yuvraj and Kaif pulled through and we won a magnificent game. I still Harsha Bhogle saying, "Tendulkar's gone and with him go India's hopes as well."
Sharjah - 1998
Well one word can be said about this tournament - Sachin! He absolutely demolished the Australian bowling attack. A couple of incredible hundreds against them, one to take India to the final and the other one was in the final itself, I think.
A small country like Danmark have won the Euros, competed by a lot of strong football nations. So Sri Lanka being capable of winning the cricket WC is not a big thing. You could say that cricket is danger of going the same way as American sports such as baseball and American football. Indian market is big enough to sustain it now. So a full fledged Indian league can work. But I agree with you, that is not an ideal situation.
That does not make any sense. Sri Lanka have also produced some of the best players to play the game. Sri Lanka not being able to take up football even if they tried is of no relevance. All of England can take up any sport, they still won't be able to win the WC :PYes, but Denmark's a decent sporting nation, they've produced some of the best players to have played the game. They're a strong and athletic population - and yes, that's racist. If Sri Lanka played football as religiously they did cricket, they'd be no way near the top...in fact I suspect they'd still be the whipping boys. But at cricket due to a lack of competition, they've got a chance in achieving sporting success. Which is why I think the game should be spread to nations deprived of sporting success. The game needs to get bigger.
