ICC champions trophy.

I saw Morgan's but to be honest acting like a spastic and playing reverse sweeps as always asking to look like a gonk and get dismissed (I know he went regulation slog on the on side and top edge to mid wicket).

How were Bopes and Bresnan out?

The worst shot was Butlers. First ball trying to smash the ball to London:lol:

Ishant lucky wickets was the decider. I was swearing at the TV when he was brought on to by Dhoni, but he's just got that luck as a captain!

Probably did make a difference too... we got about 1 run off 10 balls immediately after that. What the feck is the point of TV umpire if he's going to make decisions like that?

Wait what happened? I only turned it on with about 30 balls to go.

Appalling Decision to give Bell out mind. Not sure how Oxenford came to conclusion he did:confused:

Yeah, I don't know mate. Seems bizarre you can make a decision like that with the hindsight of as many replays as you like..

Bopara slapped a bouncer straight to square leg and Bresnan couldn't be bothered to bat so ran away.

Buttlers was horrific too.

As an England fan, I'm not too fussed, was pretty funny / normal watching us capitulate as standard. Congrats to India who were better than us throughout the tournament. England won't get a better chance to win that trophy for a while now though. We'd have had no hope if it weren't played in England.

England are bottlers though. Still don't understand how they lost.

England and SA in a world cup final.. Who would choke more??

Ashes coming up? ;P is that considered a trophy?

I don't think the location made a difference at all. It was like an away game anyway!

My point is he didn't need to play it hence he gave his wicket away. No point as it was going over his head.

That's a bit harsh on Bopara. It's quite impossible to judge whether it's over your head from a batsman's perspective especially if the bouncer is directed at your body like it was in this case

The Ashes are of course a much bigger deal for us. The English Press are expecting us to win comfortably though and that's never a good sign when it comes to our team.

Should do quite comfortably imo. Not a cricket braincell going around the aussie squad at the moment.

Australia are shit. England have by far the better team

Awful, awful finish. Morgan I can forgive for one bad shot, but Bresnan for some reason trying to run in that situation? Once again he was the worst bowler and with batting like that he's extremely lucky to make the team, Woakes has been banished for far less. If he wasn't good mates with half the squad he'd barely play. Just remember he threw four overthrows as well with a lazy, lazy throw! The worst culprit is Buttler though who is atrocious and needs dropping. What good is someone who smash it if they're out for single figures virtually every game? Even with the 2 wickets the previous over it was a easily gettable target, hardly a need to be swinging like that on his first ball. Drop him from the team till he gets some brains and learns how to bat in more than one mode.

Of course the Bell decision was disgraceful as well and in the end probably cost the game, quite how they managed to give him out and not Broad at the end is beyond me. Neither were out, but still, consistency. Still at least Bopara has firmly established himself for England this tournament as a genuinely useful all rounder, very good again today.

I don't think Bell decision mattered in the end. Infact it probably helped England since both Morgan and Bopara got the time to get their eye in and then attack in the end. You simply can not lose from a situation where you need to score 20 off 16 balls. And that too with 2 overs of Power play left. England lost the match from there on rather than India winning it

Pleased for Jadeja. He's been our best player this series.

Well it took Bopara and Morgan quite some time to get the innings back on track, who knows, maybe Bell would have got out next ball anyway, but it'd have been an extra batsmen who's well capable of scoring runs when he gets himself in as well. It was only really when Bopara got his first 6 that they started getting runs at a decent rate again.

Still the batsmen below him only have themselves to blame for losing the match even with that decision. The equivalent of having an open goal, turning round, smashing it up field for a backpass that goes to the opposition who then score to win the game. I cannot think of a single sport where England are not massive chokers, save for perhaps cycling.

Dhoni almost bottled that one. Bizarre captaincy.

Great team we've got, but #7 going to the next WC.. hmm.

Jadeja's bowling has come on so much, though. Dhawan looks a great prospect. Rohit seems a little flaky still.

Still can't believe how lucky we were.

20 off 16 balls with 5 wickets to lose. It's real bottle job IMO.
