Ibrahimovic + Thiago Silva

Sky Sport News reporting the deal for Ibrahimovic as good as done. Transfer fee around 20 mio. € and earns 14 mio. € per year.

What is Milan going to do with all the money now?

i have a better question, where are all the goals going to come form? :wenger:

Will it be possible for any club in Ligue 1 to even challenge PSG for the title next season?

Isn't his son involved with the Qatar Foundation in some capacity?
Yep. Can't see Ligue 1 having a creditable challenger in the foreseeable future. Sign of the times I guess given that Marseille look unstable, Auxerre relegated and Monaco still in the Second Division. PSG domestically can afford to buy, buy, buy until they win the league so their target will be to win the Champions League.

Lyon is still around but they need a rebuild.

It's quite funny seeing PSG signing top players now. Obviously they won't have it all their way in the league - Chelsea didn't, City didn't - but it's still a couple of levels under the bigger leagues and PSG's sudden riches might ruin it's uniqueness as an unpredictable league where you tend to get surprise champions (before and after Lyon's period, that is). So it will be a league without pulling power, with one club having the pulling power called money.

Honestly no, last season was their season under the Qataris and they still finished second (not that much from 1st place).Montpellier were amazing last season, a fairy tale campaign for them. They won't be able to reproduce that and after that if you look at the rest of the league, every single one of the big clubs have weakened (Lyon:no CL and many important players are getting kicked out, Marseille: no CL, a terrible financial situation, Deschamps leaving and on the verge of losing their best players, Lille: lost Hazard and Debuchy is going to "war" with his clubs, the replacements brought won't be good enough).
Every single team who challenged or won the title in recent has gotten weaker, they already wrap up the next Ligue 1 trophy and send to the PSG HQ.
No way they won't win the league

France doesn't have a Manchester United. PSG will win at, the very least, the next three titles, probably a lot more, but another moneybags club could come along to challenge them in the medium term.

Sewelly's right, for the foreseeable future, French football is fecked.

It is truly fecked.I keep hearing these people saying the league will get better by this influx of superstars but as long as the Qataris' money isn't used to buy players from inside the Ligue 1, the other teams cannot strengthen and more generally only one team is getting better.
I hate these automatic and stupid assumptions

So Ronaldo has to move for 42m upwards and he'll be the most expensive player through-out his career at 134m+

The 2 of them went for LESS than Carroll and Downing, didnt they?

also, has Ibra done a press conference there? Read a quote just now on FB which is funny if true.

Yeah he had a prezzer a few hours ago.

Apparently this is a dream come true for Ibra. I'm sure all Swedish boys dream of playing football in Paris.

This...
French sports minister Valerie Fourneyron called the terms "astronomical" and "unreasonable," and added that the deal shows "the absence of all regulation," a criticism also voiced by the previous sports minister, Roselyne Bachelot.

Big money...
The Sweden captain has signed a three-year contract with PSG, worth a reported $17 million net a year, $2.5 million more than he earned at Milan.

Zlatan have matured and today he knows what to say to make everyone happy. I call him professional and as a Swede I'm proud of his progress from a wild street boy to a well articulated man with wisdom and intelligence.

Pls - he's a fecking thug

Great footballer, mind you

I like how he used numbers to determine that it was 99% or less his decision. I'm sure Milan fans will be a lot less dissappointed now

was at the PSG boutique today and the Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime taking pictures of the "Bienvenue Zlatan Ibrahimovic" sign out front made me want to throw up. the phenomenon of plastic clubs is invading the smaller leagues. sickening...

I see Milan are offering a refund for fans who have purchased season tickets. Looks like they will be up shit creek for a while.
