Wonder what will happen to Joe Gomez.
Play a lot of games because Liverpool are signing their version of Bailly?Wonder what will happen to Joe Gomez.
Seems fair, would be interesting if his fitness improves considerably. With Fabinho, Kabak, Matip, Gomes, Van Dijk, Ben Davies, Konate they will have a few options. If Dortmund could price him away if he is no longer first choice, they'd be doing great business. Exactly what they need and they'd sell him for a huge fee if he performs.Play a lot of games because Liverpool are signing their version of Bailly?

Maybe they are hoping they can bionically fuse them together to create a functioning footballer.Joe Gomez is their Bailly...130 odd games missed since signing for Liverpool.
Joel Matip has a poor injury record too - he broke down every second or third game this year before he was ruled out for the season. 25 appearances in all competitions over the last two seasons (he was second choice to Gomez for some of that time but even still)Joe Gomez is their Bailly...130 odd games missed since signing for Liverpool.
Looks like you were right. My worry about konate is that if we don’t get him now with his release clause at 40m we will be quoted 80m next time we go back, or Liverpool snap him up to play beside vvd
Wow, that confirms how clueless I'm about other leagues. He has started 4 games this season and he started 6 games last season. 10 matches in 2 seasons
£35 million is a great deal for RB Leizpig![]()
Once he gets diagnosed and medicated for asthma he’ll be playing 60 games per seasonSeems fair, would be interesting if his fitness improves considerably. Oh well.Looks like you were right.
Kabak? I think he will be a back up. Joe Gomez or Konate partnering VVD.Oh well.
is this a sign that they are worried about vvd?
considering they just bought 1 new cb (not counting Davies)
Do we really want to tango with another injury-prone defender? Haven't we danced that dance enough times already? Why are we always late in closing deals like this? A potential world class CB was available for a fair price yet we were caught bird watching.
I think what is annoying is that we never seem to get deals done early like this; instead we seem to scramble at the end of the summer.Do we really want to tango with another injury-prone defender? Haven't we danced that dance enough times already?
He has played only 17 league games in the last 2 seasons.Don't really see how he's injury prone. He's had one major injury and then some other small ones. Doubt people would be saying "oh but he's injury prone" if someone was buying De Bruyne this summer.
Often times, you'd be right, but in Konate's case, I think it's sensible to let someone else take that risk, he's been really injury-prone.Why are we always late in closing deals like this? A potential world class CB was available for a fair price yet we were caught bird watching.
9 games missed since the start of the season is what I'm reading, so not actually that bad?He has played only 17 league games in the last 2 seasons.
He has had a lot of injuries this season.

24 weeks missed since his comeback last May after the big injury. That's a lot.
That’s mental. He has started 4 games this season and he started 6 games last season. 10 matches in 2 seasons

I mean it's not great by any means of course, but it certainly doesn't put me off of wanting us to sign him.
Konate played 26 games, total, over this season and last season.Don't really see how he's injury prone. He's had one major injury and then some other small ones. Doubt people would be saying "oh but he's injury prone" if someone was buying De Bruyne this summer.
He has been on the bench for a lot of games as well.9 games missed since the start of the season is what I'm reading, so not actually that bad?

I don't think there's any chance he'd feature for France in the Euros, if he got selected. And that's a big if.Smart business by liverpool if they get this done before the Euros. If selected by france and he has a good tournament his price could go up alot.
Liverpool getting Konate
CIty possibly getting Haaland or Messi
Chelsea getting Sancho or Lukaku
The signs are looking ominous for us next season.
This is looking more and more like the summer of 2018 when we finished 2nd in the league and that summer, was the World Cup and we bought Fred, Dalot, and Grant and were expected to go for the title challenge. We are approaching the Euros and we are in 2nd spot and could rightly finish there too.
The question is whether this year is gonna end, with us sacking yet another manager?
This same thing was said when Chelsea signed Werner, Ziyech and Harvertz and Spurs signed Bale and Liverpool signed Thiago but yet here we are comfortably ahead of all these teams. Let's not over react and write off our chances for next season already based on assumed signings.I think there's a reasonable chance that we'll finish behind City, Liverpool and Chelsea next season, but that wouldn't see Solskjaer fired (unless we were also outside the top 4).
The club will be looking to keep our noses in front of Leicester, Spurs, Arsenal, Everton etc and will spend the minimum required to achieve that.
