Hypothetical: Would you reject a >£100m offer for Bruno from Saudi? | Same question but £200m?

Would you sell Bruno for...

It depends on what we plan to do with it. Currently, I have no more confidence in Ten Hag as I do in Bruno, and the last thing we need is to sell Bruno and go and bring in a less effective version of Bruno. For all of his often discussed faults (usually be me!) - he does put numbers on the board, which can’t be argued. The only benefit of selling Bruno is if we are to then go on to change the way we play football, playing the type of football that doesn’t mean Amad, Hannibal or similar are ‘too small’ to get a chance, but Elanga and McTominay are seen as more ready. Down the road players like Phil Foden and Harvey Elliott are playing PL football from very young, while we are terrified to blood anyone who isn’t a sprinter or a wrestler.

If we can move more to becoming that sort of team, then it would be natural to take the money for Bruno. However, as the ‘transition team’ the manager apparently wants to build, we’d probably end up worse off.

I would sell any current United player for 100 million and that include Rashford. I think we could find a attacking midfielder that is younger with similar skill. I am sure there are a few that would fit the bill.

Even with 200 you wouldn't probably get a better player in today's market.

No...I'd consider selling him, knowing I can reinvest the money towards Osimhen or another top forward player. Can also move Mount to 10 and buy another quality midfielder. And consider using Sancho as a 10.

If something that large only gives you a matter of days, then it's not going to happen because the player is too vital and not enough time to replace. Think this is just noise from them folks because they had all transfer window to big this up.

Knowing what we do when we have money.
YES, reject it.

I can already imagine it now... 100 mil to be spent on Savic and an unknown kid (midfielder) from an unknown place. Then a backup GK, a backup LB/RB, and a shit striker above the age of 30.

ETH is absolutely in the conversation.

He’s being given carte blanche in the transfer window and is operating with no DOF above him.

If Utd have 100m to spend on transfers, it’ll be ETH who names the players.

And personally, I don’t rate him in that area at all.
Brilliant then, so Ferguson got the Ronaldo money that what you are telling me then ?

Nope

The way this clubs spends money on shite there's literally zero chance they improve the squad.

Pointless

The problem is £100 million doesn't get you much in the transfer market...especially if you have the negotiating expertise of United.

So no I wouldn't sell Bruno.

Bruno is the kind of player that won’t get the recognition he deserves until he’s gone. He does so much for the team that goes unnoticed, as well as his numerous goals and assists. He is very underrated and he would get into any team in the world.

the posters saying they'd take it probably the same ones who thought Donny was gonna replace him in the team when ETH came in

Double that and it's a maybe. Finding a ready made replacement isn't cheap.

Mount can't replace Bruno. Amad is not ready yet, need to see how he fares this season.

And this is why Bruno is so underrated. Just grab some kid at the same level :wenger:

What if the offer was £200m?
Same question but what if it was £200m, which is what is being touted for Salah?

100 million of course no.
200 million, if its indeed invested back into the team, yeah I would. But this is a hypothetical scenario where the entire amount is invested back into the team.

Absolutely and If an actual offer of anything over 60m or even 50 m comes for him next Summer We should definitely consider it .

Really? I would sell Bruno for above £100m (probably around £120m), but the cost of replacing him has to be factored in here.

Still no. Any available player on the market is almost guaranteed to be a downgrade. And even if we spent the money on 3-4 players in order to "spread the competence" and make the team as a whole better, you have to remember that our success rate with transfers post Fergie is 25% at best. And that's being generous.

Nobody is paying £100m for Bruno unfortunately and there are different ways a team can replace a player and become better , it doesn't always have to come at great cost and we might already have a player to do that in Mount .

No chance.

He’s at the centre of everything good that happens in this squad. He’s out talisman. There’s no way we could replace him.

fecking hell you would think we won the treble last season. theres no way we could replace him?

Go on then who would you replace him with and how much would they cost?

So just because We might fail to become better we should just accept status Quo .

Or maybe some people don't think that our best players represent the status quo? I would rather sell a mediocre player who's very easy to replace for 50 million than sell a good player who's very hard to replace for 200 million.

What exactly has he done to be so hard to replace honestly it's a genuine question , yes we should replace mediocre players in the squad with the better players but some times even good players also need to be moved on for teams to grow and develop .

We have survived losing far greater players than Fernandes so I find this cult around Bruno who happens to be fairly limited player outside of couple of attributes bit amusing .

100 mil for Bruno
150 mil - 200 mil for Rashford
I would sell them right away

LW, Mitoma or Kvara
Attacking mid, Olmo and Simons / or Witz

Basically technical players with higher IQs

200m obviously.

I don't rate him as highly as Bruno, but Mount operates best in Brunos positions.

Onana
XXX - XXX - Martinez - XXX
Casemiro - XXX
XXX - Mount - Rashford
Hojlund

You'd have 200m plus our usual budget to help solve the current issues in the side.

200 mil is like one Antony and two Mounts for Murtough and the clown show. feck no!

I already put the Bruno thread on ignore because I'm tired of defending a player who shouldn't need to be defended. If you can't see that Bruno is a very good player who's hard to replace then I don't know what to tell you.
