It depends on what we plan to do with it. Currently, I have no more confidence in Ten Hag as I do in Bruno, and the last thing we need is to sell Bruno and go and bring in a less effective version of Bruno. For all of his often discussed faults (usually be me!) - he does put numbers on the board, which can’t be argued. The only benefit of selling Bruno is if we are to then go on to change the way we play football, playing the type of football that doesn’t mean Amad, Hannibal or similar are ‘too small’ to get a chance, but Elanga and McTominay are seen as more ready. Down the road players like Phil Foden and Harvey Elliott are playing PL football from very young, while we are terrified to blood anyone who isn’t a sprinter or a wrestler.
If we can move more to becoming that sort of team, then it would be natural to take the money for Bruno. However, as the ‘transition team’ the manager apparently wants to build, we’d probably end up worse off.
