How much would you sell Di Maria for?

Ridiculous question. He hasn't had much of a break since the Summer of 2013. Will come back strong next season.

We could use Veratti and Lucas, I'd use Di maria as bait to try to get one (or two) of them.

Who in their right mind sells their most productive and most expensive player after a year?

Better question, which team will be able to afford him?

We should only sell him if he doesn't want to stay for some reason. He is a world class player who is much better than what we are seeing in last 3-4 months and he was also our best player for about first third of the season (prior to his injury) along with De Gea. If we keep selling players just for bad form then Fellaini and Young would have been long gone and see how they are now an integral part of the first team.

If we are selling him because he wants to leave then obviously we should be looking to get at least what we paid as a minimum.

His performance when he came on against Liverpool should have given people a clue about how much he's enjoying being here.

I fecking hate threads like this,
His performance when he came on against Liverpool should have given people a clue about how much he's enjoying being here.
He's in a bad bit of form, it happens to all players, even Messi and Ronaldo. He's on record as saying that it's always taken him time to settle into a new league and he is happy to be at United.

60M I don\t see why we should accept any less. If PSG for example want him, then 40m plus Marquinhos would do it.

Without him? He gave the assist for the winning goal and gave the pass for the penalty.

LvG isn't about 100% possesion, that doesn't win you games. He always has 3-4 players who have freedom and can lose the ball. They can be unpredictable when trying to make things happen. The team is ready to defend when he has the ball, they're not when Valencia has it for example.

An inform Di Maria in a well drilled system can be very dangerous. I believe that we will be great next season, he's having a tough time now but he'll get over that.

That people want to sell him for less than what we've paid baffles me. We have no interest in selling him as he's on a long contract and we're no selling club.

just asking questions. He did set up the 2nd goal but of the past two games he was involved in our worst half of football against ten men. I hope he stays and succeeds, but if its not going to work i'd see him sold and a better fit brought in.

Was his performance against Liverpool that bad? Made an assist, was responsible for our best counter and played an excellent pass to Blind before the penalty. He is not a player that is going to keep the ball glued to his feet. He is in the team to run with the ball and make risky passes, he is a nothing player without that. I know he should do better but I would take a player who gives an assist and creates two clear goal scoring opportunities in 35 minutes over someone who makes simple passes and keeps posession.

If he wants to go and is not happy here then we cannot do much. Otherwise there is no reason for let him go. We have been crying for a winger like him for years.

Actually Veratti would be my #1 target, but Ive always liked Lucas too.
I think ADM doesnt want to be here anymore.

How are people coming to these conclusions that he doesn't want to be here any more???

Anybody that's want to get rid of him is of their head. This guy can be one hell of a weapon given time. Hard to get players of this calibre in England. He's world class so keep all day long.

The problem is that he creates goalscoring opportunities for the opposition and kill our general momentum. No top player can justify 1 missed pass out of 4, on a consistent basis.

Edit: Except if he loses the ball around the box.

Look, dont you know that if a player or manager doesnt deliver instantly that he is immediately wank and should get shot of? Even though theres examples of patience paying off you cant allow that to stop an important thread like this.

Get with the program man, bitch complain and moan is the way to go if you dont get instant satisfaction.

What did we pay? £60m? Not much less. Perhaps £50m min.

Don't want him to leave though. I'm sure after his first season of bedding in he will smash it next season if given the opportunity.

What you a stupid post, you obviously haven't got the talent to make it here. I appreciate that you've made some decent posts in the past and I'm sure you're fine on other football forums but you're just not redcafe level, it's time to sell you to Sunderland or such.
Sorry I'm bored : (

If it's not going to work he has to be sold, for sure. It's only his first season though. He came after the worldcup, is struggling to get settled in a new country when he doesn't speak English and had injuries.

He's still got 9 assists in the league, the most of our team. I'd say that isn't bad for his first season when he's struggling. I therefore think it's baffling we're discussing about selling him and I'm sure the club does aswell. He was bought for a record transfer on a long contract, the first season isn't even over so I don't think we can judge him that harshly yet. Of course we can critisice him (he was bought for alot of money afterall), but selling him goes too far for me. We've seen what he can do if he's in form, lets give him time to find that again.

I'm 100% sure he's staying. He's not being sold for less than what we've paid for him anyways IF he leaves (which I doubt).

Not ready to sell him just yet. And regarding the price it's all down to if it's us selling or somebody else come in to buy. If we put him up for sale his market value will drop. If someone comes in and want to buy him we will get a lot more. Same thing that happened with the Mata transfer - we wanted a player they didn't even use.

Its not about price at the moment, we should just keep him until we for sure have a great replacement

Mata might not keep it up playing from wide and even if he does, its good to have competition from the likes of Di Maria so we'd need to ensure we have a talented player for that spot and then we could think about offers

Why would anyone want to sell him for any damn amount unless we're a club that needs to sell to buy?

I think its the rumours about him and his family not settling more than his performances, but i would say they are directly linked.

That is a choice that depends on which players we can sign. IF we were to sign both Memphis Depay and Kevin De Bruyne, I am inclined to say yes, sell him. If we were to get only Memphis, then I would try to keep him, and help him adopt, rotate him with Januzay, Young, Depay, Mata and Herrera for the 3 positions.

If we sold him to PSG and got Silva plus cash to make a profit. That's not happening though and I believe he will find his form again and be a huge asset to United.

There will always be rumours though, especially about our record transfer signing if he's out of form. I just don't understand that people believe it and actually think it's an option that we're going to sell him.

He's had his troubles in Manchester, they're being thoroughly analysed in the media. From his interviews you know he's just very happy his daugther is alive and that he's playing for a club where many supporters love him and he can earn his pension. His first choice was PSG, but that wasn't possible. That to me doesn't tell me that he doesn't want to be here, but that he had his preferences (probably because of Paris and the weather). He wouldn't have signed here if he didn't want to be here and he knew when he signed that he probably wasn't leaving anytime soon. He's said that he wants Manchester United to be the last club before he moves back to Argentina.

A break-in can be traumatising, but it doesn't scar you for life (usually). He and his family will have to get over that, we should give them the time to do so. He's always been a form player who can be frustrating, we knew that when we bought him. He didn't speak English, so we knew he needed time. On top of that he's had injuries and came after a long year of CL, Real Madrid and the worldcup. He had no preseason with us and probably only knew Rojo, who was new aswell.

All I'm trying to say basically is that even though he's had a far from ideal first year here at Manchester United, we should support him because he's probably not leaving anytime soon. We've seen what he can do for us. The club wouldn't take a loss on him after his first year and probably isn't keen on selling him anyways since they've paid a record fee for him.

Unless the press come with groundbreaking news I'm sure he will play for us next season. And he will be better :). I'm not saying he can't be critisiced, of course he can be for that amount of money. I just think this thread is baffling.

Not sure why even sell him unless he absolutely wants out, the difference in class between him and Young was clear in the Liverpool game. By all accounts he had a bad game, gave away the ball a little too carelessly yet ended up delivering two key passes, one of which turned into an assist and another lead to a penalty. All that in 40 mins of work. Unless we can replace him with someone of a similar efficacy he's a great age and will come good even at the money we paid for him.

I dont like change cant I stay?

This thread sounds like Di Maria is Obertan or Bellion. You don't sell that kind of players unless they request the transfer move themselves.

Adidas deal will keep us flying in the summer without selling class players.

100% true. It says a lot when he had a shit game yet gave off a world class assist and a penalty in the game
