I try to stay on an even keel this time Of year, not get overly excited,nor overly pessimistic. Right now if Darmian is not done this week I will start to feel that we might not get another signing this month.
I place no importance of us leaving on the tour as a deadline it is just starting to appear that we actually are in no rush to complete any additional incoming transfers.

I just don't see us getting anything done now until August, probably after the PL starts. Exactly like last year. Which really highlights just how poor we are at negotiating transfers, 4 months for Darmian... Feckin hell!!!

The bit no one can understand, is that you go on tour for a few reasons. Yes, the unfortunate networking/money side, but you also go away to bond the squad, get players used to working together, and plan formations etc.
How many times do we see a player signed the week of the first game, 1 day or so training, straight in. Happens way too many times to make any sense.
So, who is going to win?
The miserable, pessimistic (and probably realistic) zero crowd?
Or the conservative (including me) 1 crowd?
Or the optimistic 2 crowd?
Or the crazy 3+ crowd (it won't be you)

You can't be serious. Nobody has suggested that there have been continuous negotiations for 4 months. Just means that we tested the water back in March - probably talked to the agent informally and possibly the club. I'm sure we do that with a raft of players - most of the time nothing further happens. In this case, when the time was right, we carried it further.
You should check out who city is taking on tour, read it is a bunch of youth and only 8 senior players.
