How many signings this week?

I will have to go for zero. Hope I'm well and truly wrong but I will go as far as saying it will be the same by the time we play Spurs.

I don't get my hopes up these days. We probably won't sign anyone until we are sure that they will miss pre-season and have to jump right into premier league games without any familiarity of their teammates. When we do so it will be the obvious targets that we could have signed months in advance.

Just curious, why do people think we will sign nobody? The transfer window just opened and enough time has passed to be in the completing stages of some transfers, we've already seen how well the club keeps things quiet with Memphis as the only thing that got leaked was an enquiry and the fact we made contact 12 hours before we actually signed him.

I have no doubt the next few signing will be done this week.

I think knowing we were forced into signing Depay early as per the manager and the fact the manager again said he was working on transfer plans since the turn of the year and he wanted deals completed early kind of miffs a few muppets. So of course you could be right (hope you are) but so can everyone who has said none.
Also the Moyes summer debacle still lingers in many minds where we seemed to be holding out for WC payers only to end up with Fellaini add to that the constant stream of shit coming from twitter and the rags just adds to the frustration. That is basically my thought on it and the fact the window opened 6 days ago means nothing really as the deals could have been wrapped bar the announcements a good while back.
We are all fans though and want our club to be back at the top it's just some of us are overly negative and others overly positive - which makes the forum more interesting of course as opposed to everyone feeling the same.

According to Koeman we made a bid for schneiderlin over 10 days ago, so I'm of the opinion Woody has gone AWOL again and will resurface at the end of August.

So no signings this week.

We will make the rest of our signings on deadline day because doing deals early is boring. Woody likes a challenge.

Doubt we'll be signing anyone before our US tour starts. Only positive really is that none of the other big clubs are doing much else either. Boring transfer window so far.

This. Think we'll get one in July, and a couple late August. Has been incredibly boring not just by us, but by everyone. Only Liverpool have been busy and that's by hoovering up all the trash that's either free or utter shite.
i am beginning to sense that the Caf is getting frustrated and nervous (myself included) but I seem to remember it being the exact same last year, then boom Woody pops his cock out and we land Blind, AdM, Rojo and Falcao in the space of a couple of weeks and the place was rocking.
Maybe it is the Adidas rumour or the DDG deal is holding everything up, no one knows. But the only thing is keeping me sort of calm is remembering last summer. We have more money now and the players that will probably be leaving are worth more than the ones that went last year.
I think we'll be happy come end of August

DDG and RVP will leave on permanent deals.
We'll be close to signing two or three players as usual, be interested in seven or eight and be linked to a dozen. But we won't sign anyone.

Is it true Jim Lawlor doesn't want Darmian? Where the hell did I read that? Something about him being peaked and that our current options aren't much worse.

I read it too. It wasn't somewhere reliable. Think it might have been goal.

So many people talking about Darmian. Have I missed something? Or is this the first transfer window for a lot of people on this thread?
I don't think there are solid/reliable reports about our interest in him. Correct me if I am wrong guys.

1 boring signing of Matteo Darmian coming up. If that.

"There are a lot of things money can buy. For everything else there's Edward Woodward."

I think we'll announce three in the space of a few days towards the end of this week, and one of them will be a surprise name.

There was absolutely no need for a rational post like this. The balance of the thread is in danger now.

Shouldn't the title of the thread be changed from "How many signings this week?" to "Any signing this week?" The current title presupposes signings ;)

We need at least 3 in the right positions if we are to have a good start but we won't sign anyone worth mentioning in the coming 2 weeks.

Just got an image of Woodward using his Credit card to pay for players. "Would you like a receipt with your Schneiderlin?, we are having a sale on Garay's and Gaitan's again this year"
