Television How I Met Your Mother

is it? I haven't watched it in about a month, been waiting for the new season. But I'm not going to start on that until at least half a dozen episodes are out

Yes it is, so you better apologize for using that lame internet phrase.

All you really had was this show, that was your thing, and now it turns out you're even crap at that.

You're basically useless.

Meh... POSSIBLY meh and a half, but certainly not a good show.

That said, Barney is a bit Legen-.... wait for it... and I hope you're lactose tolerant cause the next word is "dairy".

In what could turn out to be the mother of all casting scoops, Rachel Bilson has landed a pivotal — some would say legendary — role in How I Met Your Mother’s 100th episode.

Last month, exec producer Craig Thomas told me that the milestone episode (airing in January) would feature “some serious mother action,” adding, “It’ll be the closest Ted’s ever come to [discovering who she is]. He’s getting a step closer every episode this season, and episode 100 [we] kind of go bananas with it.”

Thomas went on to say that he and fellow exec producer Carter Bays have been “spending a lot of time trying to cast the female role in Ted’s story for episode 100″ — a role a Mother insider confirms has gone to Bilson.

I've been thinking of downloading this for some time now, but the name put me off. Yesterday, I finally got the first episode thinking it's worth a watch, one minute into it I hear a laughter track. Deleted.

what's the use of recorded laughters in a comedy ?

Do those who put them think we can't discern the moment when we're supposed to laugh from the moment we aren't ?

I haven't heard one in so long NN, the second my brain realized that the laughter wasn't coming from me, I turned it off. It's frustrating and for me, very distracting.

I'll take a pass on this and go back to the new series of It's Always Sunny.

I've just recently started watching this show. Up to season 3, tend to use 'Legendary' a lot now.

I think it's a funny show. Is season 5 the last one?

Good stuff. I'm at when Ted and Robin split up @ Lily and Marshall's wedding and Barney's excited about being reunited with Ted...that's awfully far away yeah.

Enjoyed the 100th episode. Barney was brilliant as always. Big revelation on the mother but it'll obviously be the season finale before we see her, at least.

Yes, I meant Season 2. I'm starting to confuse seasons.

I think I watched the first 3 seasons in a week 2 summers ago.

Just watched the 100th episode. Got through them quite quickly !

Barney Stinson has got to be one of the best characters in a sitcom - ever. Great show, I just plowed through the first four and a half seasons of it. I was a bit "meh" at first but once I got into it I really started to enjoy it. Does anybody know how far they are planning to run it? I can picture a sixth season but no more than that..?

Does anyone else feel that this show has become about as funny as a cactus enema?

Marshall's become a sappy married type. Lily was a always a bit shit. Robin's getting very few storylines, Ted is just meh and Barney's character seems to have been completely watered down, for some reason.

They'll need to up their game or just reveal who the mother is, and knock it on the head. This along with The Office were two of my favourite shows of late, and they've both been shite this season.

The past few episodes have been a bit meh. I reckon they'll introduce the mother the end of the season. Don't think they can go 5 whole seasons without introducing her. The last season or two will be about their relationship. That's my theory anyway.

This season has been shit, Marshall has suddenly became irritating and Barney has become somewhat repetitive.

That Last Scene of Zoo and False made me laugh though, the previous episode is not that funny but still good to see Ted's story has made some progress

Become? It's always been shite. Bog-standard "every-line-must-be-a-joke (unless it's a "learning" or "emotional" scene)" American sit-com. Bah.

I always feel the female characters are much better than the male. Barney is wooden, I'm convinced the actor who plays Ted is gay and Marshall is just a Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime who I can't take seriously with longer hair. He also has a shite part. Lily and Robin are pretty good characters though and the show has its moments, but 'Modern Family' is vastly, vastly better. And it has Sofia Vergara in it :D:drool:

I gave up on this show in season 3. Not funny in the least and terribly repetitive. Cobie Smulders is quite hot though.

And I have noticed that a lot of them have English lookalikes

I've watched a few episodes of this and just can't get into it.

Modern Family on the other hand, now that's an excellent sitcom. Probably the best on at the moment.

How I Met Your Mother is great for what it is, a Friends for the current generation. It's not brilliant, but it has its moments and for me, is always worth a watch at least. When you watch most other traditional American sitcoms around right now, you'll see that How I Met Your Mother is vastly superior to the lot. And this series has definitely been hit and miss. For me they nearly ruined it by putting Barney in a relationship. His entire character is based around the fact he's a womaniser.

But as others have said, Modern Family is the best American comedy around right now. Great show.

Community is my favourite at the moment.
