How good was David Beckham?

I remember listening to a game on the old 5 Live when Beckham was a kid and we were playing at Upton Park. He came on as a sub and Trevor Brooking was raving about him and cursing West Ham to the rafters for missing out on him.
 
Beckham was an outstanding player. It should also be said that even at his absolute peak of fame, he always came across as humble and grounded. Definitely not an arrogant big time Charlie cnut
 
He's my favourite old school winger. Pin point accurate crosses, world class set pieces, and incredible work ethic. Also remained a decent humble guy regardless of the fame and wealth.
Despite all the shit he had to put up with from the media and fans after that England game, he still delivered on the pitch. Can only imagine how poorly some of the fragile young players of today would cope if they had to endure the same shit that Beckham did. Just look at Rashford and his whining whenever he gets criticism in social media, or how Sancho responded to Ten Hag's comments. Beckham was class
