Television House of the Dragon (GoT Prequel) - No book spoilers allowed

I liked that. Very Rhaenyra heavy. She's a great actress and will be a shame when there's a huge time skip.

Yeah, definitely the most interesting episode yet, some genuinely surprising developments and very well paced and acted. I'm dreading the big time jump but for now it's getting very intriguing.

The more we see Milly Alcock acting the feck out of that character the better  Paddy is also doing a great job at playing the weak, uncertain, second guessing king.

Good episode with plenty of intrigue. Otto's decision to tell the King backfired but I don't think he's done with his scheming.

The actress who plays Rhaenyra is very good.

You're a raging psychopath. I get not liking it, but it should be impossible to have liked the first three and thought this one was shite.
Very little happened! And what did happen wasn't particularly interesting with the exception of maybe the Otto stuff!

One scene getting a lot of plaudits is the one with Alicent and Rhaenyra but I thought that Alicent's behaviour in that scene was wildly inconsistent with the sheepish character we've been introduced to up until that point. I know a part of it was that there was underlying jealousy of Rhaenyra's gallivanting but I don't think that justifies some weird one-off change in her personality.

Even the Otto stuff. Seems to me that Visery's went from being oblivious to Otto's carry on to having him completely sussed a bit too easily, especially given that his information on what Daemon and Rhaenyra were up to proved to be accurate?

Great episode. Easily the best one.

It was distinctly different from the previous episodes, I thought, in that It felt like an episode from a show that's finally finding its feet. There was plenty of intrigue, the pacing felt good, and I liked the ambiguity from the characters. Their actions and motivations can be interpreted in a few different ways, and are not quite as clear-cut as they first appeared. A very confident and assured episode.

Felt like GoT season 1 vibes.

Could someone tell me if this thread is following the Sky Atlantic release schedule, or is the whole thing out and people are talking about episodes not yet available in the UK/Ireland?

It's released weekly worldwide as far as I am aware. So everyone is at the same point. Nobody is past episode 4

Cheers! Enjoyed this week's episode, it's not King's Landing without a bit of incest.

“What protection? She has a dragon, you dumb cnut!
First Viserys got betrayed by Daemon, now Rhaenyra is following. Poor King has no chance.

I'm really loving this.

Well he didn't actually slip it in by all accounts so the perving little spy wasn't truely accurate.

It was good stuff; left me wanting more like I was Rhaenyra left hanging by Daemon ;). I also like the further inclusion of animals as some sort of symbolism we’ll hopefully find out more of, in this episode being the rats.

Any spoilers in here? Am I safe to read? :nervous:
I think we have mostly got that out of our system, but you never know. The night is dark and full of terrors.

Really enjoyed this promiscuous episode. Milly Alcock is a superb actress.

Thank you. Side note I wonder if we will see any Lord of Light content in this show? His power is there for all to see in GoT.

Best episode yet. I think many of us who watched the same series of events will have completely different takes on what happened.
I was struggling with the show but this episode has got me interested again. The political battles looming were well set up. Starting to see characters develop more too.

Rhaenyra officially washed up :(
There's sex and then there's hot sex. I don't think that qualifies as hot sex.
Didn't Sir Cole swore to be celibate when he became a knight? I wonder if sleeping with Rhaenyra will be his demise.
Also they explained Daemon's "impotence" as him being ashamed of what he was doing. I'm not so sure about that.

Not being a knight but when he joined the Kingsguard, yeah. Although, I am pretty sure many Thrones lore has many Kingsguard across multiple eras who broke that vow, not least of all being Jaime of course.

He struggled to get it up with his, err, paramour, last time too, didn’t he?

Yep. I thought that was what happened here with Rhaenyra

Also Joffrey spoiling what happened to Rhaenyra is still funny.

The incest is one thing, but is that girl playing Rhaenyra not like 14 years old?

She’s 22. Not sure how old exactly at the time of filming.

And I won’t abide this Emilia Clarke slander. She responded to that reddit charity fundraising thread with a nice video to the fans. Plus bewbs.
