Gaming Horizon: Zero Dawn (PS4)

Totally forgot about the new screenshot feature. With that in mind heres a few of my photomode attempts. Really enjoy playing about with photomode in games despite how time consuming it can get if you really obsess. :nervous:

This one is a little spoilery, its just the entrance to the first cauldron but if you aint done it yet. Best just to experience it fresh.

The beauty of the game-world is actually very distracting. Spent about a minute watching the sunrise from the top of a mountain earlier.

Also, like Witcher 3, they've nailed wooded areas. Wind rustling through the trees and the darkness overhead is class.

Got this started yesterday. About three hours in. Loving it so far. It's a lot of fun and looks amazing even on standard PS4

Two games in one. Horizon: Zero Dawn and Nature Photography 2017...

Loving the pictures!!

They just released Nioh, Yakuza 0 and now Nier Automata in the last 6 weeks too. Sony have been absolutely killing it with exclusives lately!
NieR: Automata isn't a PS4 exclusive. The Steam version is coming on Friday.

Enjoying it so far. The games' influences are fairly obvious from the get go. Not surprised The Witcher revs had a hard on for it.

Graphics look great. I just don't see myself getting excited by robotic dinosaurs

Ah it's much more than that in fairness! I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying the storyline and the robots are only a part of that. Everything about the game feels very well thought out.

I'm sure more experienced gamers than me are finding parts of it similar to other games but for me, as my first next gen game, it's awesome!

Been playing this for the last seven hours, awesome game but really difficult.

I don't understand this sentence.

I don't know much about the game to be honest, but it seems the main enemies are robot dinosaur looking things. That type of thing just doesn't really interest me.
But as far as the game looks graphically, it looks great

I was in 2 minds about the robot dinosaurs before buying, but thinking about it, they are less ridiculous than enemies in a lot of other games. It's actually really well done so far too, it's a welcome change to mythical creatures.

One minor complaint for me is that the robots respawn too quickly.

Had to start playing this on TV instead of projector :( eye infections can feck off, didn't realise how bright the projector easeas.

I caved and bought this. I'm really getting into Witcher 3, and was considering just losing myself in that and then buying this at a discount, fully patched, etc. once I've finished that, but Idecided that there was no chance of me holding off until 2022.

The lighting engine in this game is ridiculous.

Did my first cauldron last night. Jesus that was tough. Took me about half a dozen attempts to beat that fireback thing and i only just scraped past it then.

Tbh it's probably because it's the first point in the game I've had to make use of the dodge roll after being accustomed to sniping from the tall grass for so long. Suppose it will come in handy as i go on.

The realisation that there was no cover in the area though was akin to Homer realising that the gay bar had no fire exit.

Good advice for fighting any big machine is to get yourself the shadow rope blaster and shadow sharpshot bow with tearblast arrows. Use the rope caster to tie it up then tearblast arrows to shoot off its components.

It's best to go to vendors and stock up as quickly as you can in the game. If you haven't got everything you need to buy stuff you can create a job that will highlight on the map where you can find the stuff you need.

Guess who just brought a new shiny PS4 Pro and Horizon Zero Dawn  .. please tell me what I have just spent will be worth it?

Oh yes. You've picked a good time to jump in to the next gen actually. There's been some excellent stuff released this year already.

Some examples please? I have been trying to find new games after completing the Hitman entire first season. Looks like I might jump into Horizon Zero Dawn, but what other games are there?

I bought exactly the same last week and I've barely put the thing down since!

The way i see it, it's already earned a hundred quid off the 250 back, having kept me out of the pub all weekend.

I've been biding my time until I felt a game really blew my socks off graphically and push me into making the jump.. from everything I have seen, this game looks sensational. Have no money left for Zelda, so that can be my purchase for next year.

Resident Evil 7, Nioh and Nier Automata have all scored highly with reviewers this year.

Ghost Recon Wildlands less so but I've heard it's good in co-op.

Mass Effect Andromeda is out in a week.

Games that I've personally enjoyed recently but aren't new are Titanfall 2 and The Bioshock Collection (never played Infinite) which was on offer on PSN the other week. The DLC which took you back to Rapture was excellent.

From what I've played so far;

Bloodborne
Uncharted 4
The Last Guardian
Nioh
The Witcher 3
Metal Gear Solid V
Batman: Arkham Knight

Multiplayer: Rocket League (Fecking Brilliant Game), Battlefiled 1

Cheap But Great Games: Inside, SOMA

If you didn't play these on PS3: The Last of Us Remastered (Absolute must!), Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Grand Theft Auto V

The hardest part of this bloody game is finding rabbits to catch. I need a skin to get the last carrying upgrade for the sharpshot bow but the feckers have all disappeared! I've caught two in the last hour but neither gave me a skin.

There were hundreds of the buggers around earlier!

 Great list.

Thanks, I have played most on that list except Nioh, The Last Guardian and Witcher 3

Photomode for me is starting to get fairly addictive, but with some very pretty rewards
