It's about time Wayne and Eminem graced the same stage, oh and Drake is here now.
feck CBS, feck the Grammy's, they're making a mockery of my culture.
the guys a fake, doesnt write his own lyrics, got owned on a live freestyle, birdmans his sugar daddy, how the hell could he be part of an kind of hip hop history??
Why is he fake? Any proof he doesn't write his own lyircs. Where is this freestyle, erm Birdman one I'll stay away from!
When it's all over, Weezy will be remembered as a hip hop legend, just like Nas,Jayz,LL Cool J,Eminem etc.
nas, jayz, eminem and in the future you think 'weezy' who half of his rhymes are him making funny noises, his lyrics dont even make sense, is going to compare to those legends, ok lol you got me
each to their own, the guys made millions and millions, fair play to him but so many other rappers are leagues ahead of him
Lil Wayne doesn't even make Hip-Hop!
Yeah but so many rappers are leagues ahead of LL Cool J, who is going to question he's a hip hop legend?
At the end of the day it's how you are remembered and I honestly think Wayne can be that.
lil wayne & hip hop history, wtf??
Chuch D is a legend. The three on that stage - not even remotely close.

Eminem makes me cringe, Drake is even worse.
Sadat X - Wild Cowboys 2. Now that's the return of a Hip-Hop legend.
I think many would argue that Eminem is a legend to be fair. The other's, no way.
1.5 Million in his first week, nobody active in music is doing that other than Susan Boyle.
He doesn't write his own lyrics, he uses memory, so nice try... Also, what big named artist does? Not too many... I will never negate the fact Wayne is a piece of history because he's the face of the genre commercially in modern times.
I respect him becayse his work ethic is unreal between touring, features ,and his own catologue... I know the saying, quality > quantity, but there's a fine line you can tread and he does it well.
I agree with you music you enjoy Hectic but sometimes your opinion of the genre is a bit iron fisted as if you invented it, and it's a bit retarded... This song is incredible, all three of them do Hip-Hop, whether you like it or not.... I'm a fan of all borders and breeds of hip-hop and I for one can't stand anyone who degrades newer forms of hip-hop and cluthces to the past.
You don't have to like it, but respect people who do, is what i'm saying.
Eminem broke down barriers and re-defined the game, on top of the fact he did it with minimal gimmicks and on his day is the best rapper alive, period.

Well put. Especially on the part where Hectic believes that Drake etc don't make Hip-Hop. I used to be a stuck underground Hip-Hop freak but my love for music in general is greater than that. Once I opened up my borders, I found a wide variety of music that I never knew existed. I discovered that artist I brushed of before actually have good songs if you bother to listen. I respect each artists individual effort they put into making their music. Commercial or underground.
"Do you listen to music or do you just scheme through it..." Sean Carter.
Indeed, I can respect ones gripes with the music as well, but I can't stand being/seeing people talked down because they listen to only commercial or underground music... Let them, they are the ones missing out.

Gillie The Kid and Drake would say other wise

I've been listening to hip hop on and off since the early 80s, so for me i would have to classify the legends based on the era.
Early 80s - Kurtis Blow, UTFO, Whodini, Sugarhill Gang
Late 80s / Early 90s - Public Enemy, NWA, Dr. Dre and Ice Cube solo
Mid 90s - Today - Tupac, Cash Money and No Limit Records
Best Album Ever - Public Enemy's Fear of a Black Planet
Best Track Ever - NWA's Straight Outta Compton

Hip Hop History
It's about time Wayne and Eminem graced the same stage, oh and Drake is here now.
I won't bore all y'all with my disappointment here. I thought we were getting served up the origins/roots of Hop Hop, or even some fly Afrika Bombata and the Soul Sonic Force from when it metamorphosised onto the streets of the US-of-A. That wee fecker Wayne is just a skidmark on the underpants of the scene.
That "skidmark" is the representation of the genre for the past decade give or take.
Any proof?
Of course Wayne and Eminem are big big parts of Hip Hop, whether people like it or not and although both of them are producing much garbage now and then they both have great, great songs and sold millions and millions of copies and earn respect for that.
I like "Forever", the first song includes too much of Wayne's dumb idea becoming some kind of rock star and most of his rock songs are pretty shit I think, but for people who really can't stand him should listen to the Carter II and to his mixtapes, because he is actually at times pretty good lyrically and metaphorically.
And I don't think I have to explain why I think Eminem has earned his place in Hip Hop history
But I agree with Hectic about Drake, he really doenst impress me, although many think he is the next big coming.
