Higuain to leave Real Madrid

Didn't Wenger say that you're finally ready to spend big? I thought I read it somewhere.

Gazidis made big noise about us having lots of money.

As for Higuain though - apparently the terms were agreed but Real upped the price at the final stage.

If that's true, someone upstairs at Arsenal might be kicking themselves about making those noises. On the surface, sounds like Real really want to fleece some more.

He could do far better than Arsenal though. We'd go straight in for him if we lost Rooney and he was available for example

Just a minor removal from the hundreds on here who felt he was 'good enough' for Arsenal but definitely not United.

I stand corrected on that, then.

I'd take Higuain over Benzema, but that's probably just me.

Yeah that's true. It's just for that price Madrid quoted (40m), you'd expect to get Benzema instead of Higuain.

I think most United fans rate Higuain, but feels that he won't be our first choice, which is what Higuain's looking for.

Seems like part of the new post-galactico strategy to buy players with resale value and don't let them go on the cheap.

I'm sorry, but I can't help but laugh at how obsessed you are with "strategies" and "five year plans", like you're privy to them.

Well you can assume that clubs just blunder along making up stuff on the hoof or you can interpret their behaviour. It's fairly well documented that the new RM strategy is YEA - Young quality additions, Espagnol core, Academy. And that's what they appear to be doing in the market.

Why the hell do you keep saying "Espagnol"? That's in fecking French. I know you're devoted to Wenger but that's taking it a bit too far.

Does your keyboard have an n with a tilde over it?

People would understand Espanol. I think the g is unnecessary.

This is all a bit silly but I have to say I disagree. Espanol sounds completely different whereas Espagnol sounds exactly like Español. I wouldn't put in the g myself but I think it's better than Espanol...

I'm actually a bit surprised that Arsenal haven't got an interest in Benzema so far. For me he's a superior player to Higuain and I think should be achievable.

I meant that people would read Espanol and go oh that's the Spanish club Español. I'm pretty sure everyone would. Typing an extra G is just wasting time none of us have.

Basically La Arse didn't want to cough up the money. I hope they don't think they can get Rooney on the cheap too. Especially when Higuain is going for that price.

Any truth to the reports of a €35m bid being accepted from Napoli?

He is a fantastic striker, really suprised he hasnt been snapped up yet

It's taking so long as he incredibly hard to value, similar to Chicarito. A clearly quality player, but doesn't play enough to demand the fee that he is worth to his current club. Until Napoli had a lot of cash to spend.

€37m rising to €40m for Higuain? Oh Rafa. Plus €22m for Albiol and Callejon.

I disagree. I don't think he's fantastic. Higuaín is overrated by many Real Madrid fans. A fantastic striker turns up for big games, something that Higuaín hasn't done yet on a consistent basis.
