Miki has played just one half of football. how can we judge?
It's more the fact that he hasn't started yet up to the City game I found strange. If he worried that he would struggle with the pace of game, why start him in arguably the most frantic match we've had. Talk about a baptism of fire  I am sure he will come good.

Did they?

And how was he treated like crap exactly?

You pay big money for someone they kind of expect a chance in the 1st team.

This isnt the 70's where you had to prove yourself at a big club before getting a start.

Miki starting no games for us as worse players were chosen ahead. He then got injured on international duty where he was expected to be 10 days out. Yet he was thrown into the lions den against City as his 1st start. subbed at half time, his manager pubicly states he cannot trust him. This is one risk with Jose is that he can be quite rash/brash. Miki has always had confidence issues so needs an arm around the shoulder whilst settling in.

I don't think those Kagawa comparisons are fitting, Mkhitaryan is more talented/complete and Kagawa is stronger mentally.

And Kagawa happened to be good under SAF.

Yes, Mkhitaryan never succeeded under SAF.

What I mean, is that the comparison with Kagawa is strange because in his first season he was good, he had his lengthy injury but he was good.

I was talking to a few Dortmund fans on another forum yesterday. They say he's very much a confidence player and a mentally fragile player.

Took him a while to get going at Dortmund.

When we were linked with him, I was of the opinion that he was a very overrated player and that he'd struggle to make an impact here with him usually taking a lot of time to adapt to new surroundings and the fact that it was more so the Dortmund system that got the best out of him - something we weren't likely to play with Zlatan and Rooney starting with eachother. Even with my low expectations of the player, his performance on Saturday was shocking, and if we continue with the current set-up, while I don't expect him to be as bad, I don't expect much from him. Our attack is just too static and predictable to get the best out of him at the moment.

On his dribbling, I've never seen him as a good dribbler. It was more his clever movement and the fact that Dortmunds attacking foursome were so fluid he was so effective on the right.

I tend to agree with this. A strange signing, made worse by Mourinho's decision to keep Mata, thus reducing the playing time each is likely to get. Dortmund's system is so different to ours that the logic of signing their players seems bizarre.

One can just pray that no one links to C*stis' report. No page views = no revenue = what the S*n deserves.

I mean, if we can't make a definitive decision on a player based on half a game...

Feck me.

If it is true, just lol.

You would not expect this from an experience manager like jose though but hey it just proves that everyone can make a mistake. Not only "shitty managers" like moyes or LVG can do.

LOL so it's all Jose's fault. OK then. He would have asked Mkhi how he felt, he obviously said "yes boss I am fine". His muscle was either not 100% recovered yet or he was lying about being fine so he could start. It's just unfortunate he's aggrevated it, anybody recovering from a muscle injury will know sometimes it gives no pain until you really go at it full speed.

Anyway apart from Watford he wouldn't have played any of those matches, so no big deal.

No its not all his fault, but he knew the risks, also he didn't need to play him in the biggest game of the season so far when he hadn't played more than 30 mins in a game all season and was also recovering from an injury

Anyone saying he reminds them of Kagawa is clueless. Thats all there is to it really

Reminds me of the Kagawa situation more than anything. Same with Mata. We keep buying these clever players and never set up the team to get the best out of them.

Frustrating.

No way they would have played him injured, to the extent where there were fit players on bench? No chance....

Whats that got to do with anything? I mean we're kind of following the trend of Kagawa and Mata so far. Common factor is a shit scouser too.

You said we keep buying clever players and never make the best use out of them. Kagawa wouldn't have started a head of Rooney as a number 10 - his case was an anomaly where we didn't know RvP would be available that summer and ended up buying the latter despite already bagging Kagawa.

Mata played in a number 10 most his time under Moyes and he played on the inside right under LvG. He played inside left/right for Chelsea too. Mourinho gives Mata quite a lot of freedom to roam central so far, and Mkhitaryan has been played in the exact same role for us as he played for Dortmund.

We're 4 games into this season under a new manager. We should be more patient.

He's had a real rough start to his career here, now apparently out for the next three games.

He hasn't been handled very well so far. Left on the bench in the first 3 games, gets a knock while away on international duty then thrown into his first start against City. If he wasn't fit enough to start the first three then fair enough, but he certainly wasn't fit enough to start on Saturday. Pretty daft.

I don't think he's had a tough start or anything really. Not starting the first few games I think was just a political move with Mata so he doesn't feel like he's a back up player right away and ask for a transfer right during the window. Mkhitaryan started the first game after the window, even though he was half fit after an injury. So I wouldn't read much into only being a sub during August (and besides, his sub apps were quite good).

If Kagawa is stronger mentally than Miki, then Miki is not fit for EPL... It does not mater if he is talented or not, if he is a pussy, then he is fecked, if you know what I mean.

Needs to walk in the starting 11 next weekend, and in a central position. He's incredibly talented and creative so he can actually make things happen for us. We'll look a different side with him instead of Rooney
