Is she not a he? Or is he a she? Or a mix? or None?

Well I'm assuming it's a she considering she's judging players on appearance rather than football ability. Or at least that's how it seems she's coming up with her opinion. I think we need to stress that it's a she.

A big, dirty, clueless twat of a she.

He also said that Nani wasn't worth £17m while Bentley was. He can't judge wide players very well.
Untrue ... show me the quote where I've said Bentley was worth 17m.

That's not the logic I've used. It's your retard view of logic.

I've simply pointed out that Downing was Villa's best player last season, whilst Valencia was far from being Man. Utd's best player. This of itself does not necessarily make Downing a better player than Valencia. What it does do is illustrate the point that a fair few Man. Utd fans have this delusion that most of their squad players are better than all of the best players in the starting XI of all the non-top 6 Prem teams.

Most Villa fans would rather see Downing stay than Young if they're forced to choose. Yet Fergie is busy pursuing Young, whose arrival will likely dampen Valencia's standing in Man. Utds pecking order. The pursuit is understandable, since Young is a pretty good player whose contract situation means that Villa must perforce sell now or risk losing him later for nothing.

My view - not based on your retard view of my supposed logic - is that Downing is a better player than Valencia. I'm not surprised that Man. Utd fans take exception to this view.

Except that Valencia isn't a squad player but one of our most frequently used players, a very important part of the team.

In what way would Downing be better than him? Seriously?

You do realize that Valencia was out for pretty much the whole season? Plus when he came back he was probably our best player (certainly top 3). Using this season as part of your reasoning is pretty desperate.

I think Downing is a good player, has a consistent delivery and well worth his place for any team outside the top 6. Valencia proved last season and the end of this season that he can be far more than that.

You've also underrated Park, quality little player. Overall he's probably on par with Downing but he's more of a tactical card than most other players about, great player to have around.

I'm pretty sure if you asked Villa fans if they'd like Valencia in their team over Downing they'd all say yes without having to even think.

Untrue ... show me the quote where I've said Bentley was worth 17m.

God you're so pedantic. Fine, you said that signing Bentley for £17m was either a better deal or just as good a deal as when we signed Nani for the same price.

I've seen both players in action a fair bit and I also take into account that it's easier to play well when you are surrounded by better players in a better team. From what I've seen I prefer Downing to Valencia ... simple as that.

I doubt that Young is jumping ship to Man. Utd on the understanding that he's to be a mere squad player. Nor is it a stretch to imagine that, as a result of Young's arrival, Valencia will not be one your "most frequently used players".

I doubt it ... but there's no way of proving it either way.

Valencia was better than Downing when he was at Wigan, too, which shits on that line of reasoning.

Actually I expressed strong reservations about Bentley's signing at the time it occurred for the fee involved.

Seeing that Young will most likely be used on the left or in the hole, Valencia have little to fear. Though he might have to settle for a place on the bench more often because of Nani who IS indeed a better player than him but not as suited to the left flank as Young.

I'm not sure what your point is...it doesn't really address mine, and if you didn't want to address mine then you didn't really need to quote it. That is what you said.

I don't believe I have ever said that Bentley is better than Nani and I didn't think that Spurs should have signed the former for the fee involved.

Happy now?

I don't mind when some people rate other players than our players, I also liked downing at one point, a shame that he was so loyal to boro' and then only picked Villa...

But still, from Valencia's performances since last season and up to know, I can't see how Downing would be rated better, even so, why aren't Villa playing Young on the right, Downing on the Left if he was so good and they were playing him LB at times...

Albrighton > Downing then ?

I don't know about you Glaston, not sure if your just liking Downing from a couple of live matches you saw or if you watched him consistently enough but to put it quite frankly, only 5 wingers imo. will give Cashley a hard time and definitely Valencia is one of them.

That's a matter of opinion ... as is so much in the world of footballing discussion.

It's quite well supported when you consider than Manchester United came in and signed him off the back of his time there. Strange that Sir Alex overlooked Downing :wenger:

Just seen Glaston's latest brain fart here.

Hilarious.

Downing over Valencia?

Can someone find his posts on Bentley?

Glaston is a troll. But she's been trolling so long that people begin to think she's actually serious. I can't comprehend a person being that genuinely thick, so just don't feed the troll.

Next we will be hearing that Bale is the best player in the world.....

....oh wait!

I don't believe I have ever said that Bentley is better than Nani and I didn't think that Spurs should have signed the former for the fee involved.

Not really...you're deliberately working your way around what I've said so I've no idea why you bothered to quote me at all.

It's really nothing to do with United fans.

Most football fans who aren't retards would also laugh at you.

And just to emphasise how wrong you are, Valencia isn't a squad player, and has been favoured to Nani of late, and Young isn't just confined to the wing, so doesn't HAVE to displace any winger.

Well, if Valencia might have to settle for a place on the bench more often ... then I'd say he has something to fear, wouldn't you?

Jesus, you are an idiot, aren't you?

Young, as a winger, is most comfortable on the LEFT, where we do not have anyone who can hold down that spot permanently as Nani is more suited to the right.

Therefore Nani might compete more with Valencia as we will have another option for the left flank.

Will that have anything to do with Valencia's quality compared to Young's or Downing's? Obviously not, it will have everything to do with the fact Nani's more suited to the right flank while Young, though an inferior player to Nani, is probably better than him on the left flank.

What does this have to do with Downing? Nothing at all as far as I can see. He's an inferior player to Young and an inferior player to Nani - that's why we want Young, not him, for that role on the left. And Young can play as a second striker of course.

I don't know how many times Villa played Downing at LB - not often I'd guess. And even then you have to consider that Villa's regular LBs are not very good.

As for Downing on the right and Young on the left, I presume that if Young was as effective on the right as Downing is on the left, then Downing would have been played on the left more often. But he isn't, so there you go. Young tends to cut inside (onto his right foot) to great effect when playing on the left - so the position seems to suit him better, whereas Downing is more two-footed than Young

Like Young, Downing is versatile ... can (and does) play anywhere across the attacking midfield - or even at LB as you say.

Sunderland say £19.5m separate of any Ngog deal.

So the £20m reports were pretty much correct (Ngog worth about £0.5m).

I understand N'Gog will be treated as a separate transfer if it happens.

Henderson cost 19.5 Million.
