Has political correctness actually gone mad?

It does feel like it sometimes.
You've made this point before. Don't know if I asked earlier but what is making you think this? Give examples of things that have happened to you personally...

A bit like the reactions in here. That post was a picture with lots of exaggerations, they were meant to be funny (i think), some of them are, to be fair.
I've been quoted a couple times by people who (included you) seem offended or annoyed about it.

I think i best stay out of this thread, since any form for humour seem to offend people. Ironically, considering the thread title.

I mean, it's amusing...but anyone who genuinely thinks we're living in that sort of world needs their head checked.

Is it amusing though? It's just a long list of imagined grievances...

Could have been posted by the rn7 person in the 500k thread. It's posts like that that convince me the "too much pc" crowd have absolutely nothing legitimate to complain about.

If you pretend, sure.

Yeah, amusing was being kind.

To clarify, i'm not offended by that... I just don't see anything funny in it. There's no punchline, nothing ironic etc. It reads like a shopping list.

Edit: Then again we don't all share the same humor and something I might laugh about may be bland to you. And that's fine.

 offended/annoyed? It was just a question....

I'll be real if you can't take someone questioning a post of yours then 1) its no wonder you think the sky is falling and 2) you're being a flipping snowflake.

The vegans complaining at the carrot was a bit funny, no? :)

Well, the few posts i've made in here, have all been "attacked" or questioned.
I live in a wealthy country, with lots of fresh air, water, and pretty much everyone have a good life, so things that might be small, are blown out of proportions.
Might be why i have different view on stuff than some. The Caf is full of people from different cultures and we all see things differently.

We all find different things funny wrt your joke. No need to make anything more than that out of it.

As for the rest, fair enough. I asked because I may have been able to help you look at things differently, no big tho.

I'm probably getting too old to get my opinions changed ;)

Be careful. McUnited will be in here in a moment telling you it's "too," not "to."

Oh... i must've typed too fast on my pad and forgot an o, i know the difference, and don't get them wrong.
Going to ninja edit it.

So they're now trying to force the restaurant and food trade to change the name of pork faggots to something else.
Ideas for new name???

I don't think it is specifically from the gay community. More so, a bunch of idiots who like to complain.
Where are these idiots?

I've googled 'faggots' and saw nothing in the news. Searched twitter and just got... well, what you'd expect when searching twitter for tweets containing the word 'faggots'.

Somebody posted about it in the chefs group I'm in so I'll try find it and tag you in on here.

You ever indulged? I've barely eaten red meat since I was about five, so never really been on the radar. Can't say they sound particularly appetising.
Oh yes, definitely, I like a good faggot. I eat a lot of meat, and a lot of red meat particularly.

I do believe giving up meat - becoming vegan in fact - would be the single best thing a person could personally do to help the environment. I think about it quite a bit, in an abstract way - not "will I do this or not / when might I do this?" but "would it be possible for me to do it? How would I go about doing it?" I have thought about what I would eat, what I would miss, whether I would be able to actually hack it. And I think actually the single biggest stumbling block isnt even meat, it is cheese. But I think I could do it. It would be good for my weight as well, I dare say, which is another good reason to do it.

But for now I keep on eating meat. And yes, to come full circle, when I see a faggot in a restaurant I am somewhat aroused, from a culinary perspective.

Faggots are banging to be fair, used to get them down the chippy at lunch.

Started to notice this internet trend of late, particularly on Twitter, where people will not only be offended by silly things, but will actually take something that isn't offensive in any way, and create an agenda around it in order to put it into a context where they can pretend it is. Just so can then go on a do gooder rampage against it. Plenty of examples of this with the recent Raheem Sterling being picked on trend.

It's one thing when idiots are over reacting with their PC hat on, another when actually intelligent people are creating problems that aren't there just so they can be seen as being the good guy.
