Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2

Haha, you make me laugh Weaste, I was caught on the roll of a dice. Anyway, whose Claudia? She hasn't got a thing on my Emma, that's for sure.

You giant poofter.

No you were not really, I made a grave error in thinking that you were dead in any case and tried to mix the voting up. Not realising that the village was full of fools. Considering that you luckily killed the seer (through sheer random luck) and the the witness so soon, it should have been easy for the wolves, and you all fecked it up.

Well, you say you tried to mix the voting up but deep inside I believe you didn't want to vote for me, in fairness to RedSky, he put me on the defensive early on which I didn't want and changed my gameplan. Then you were lucky with feeky/phelans in one swipe. Whereas we actually have evidence Phelans believed puNANI had a role - I think the Wolves made one or two errors, but I think the villagers got more luck than us what with taking me and Phelans out in quick succession. Alas, it was an excellent game and was great fun, though maddening at times.

I was talking about Emma Watson until you came in here talking about Claudia, who the feck is Claudia and does she want my body? Most women do.

Oh yeah, I remember her, she's fit - give her my digits - 999DANGER. Tell her if she wants a real man, phone someone else.

I'm only 21. I see, Romanian eh? Met plenty of 'em in my part of Manchester Weaste!

She isn't in Manchester! Speaks lets say broken English, but understandable (perfect Spanish mind). What have you got to offer? I don't think she's really into the market for a scrubber on the dole.

I can offer her this, a words and wishes, bliss;
for all the claims of solice born but which
all I have a solitary kiss and the warm air
of Autumn Skies blown across the mid July
and all she see's is evergreen, ever me
but what of that, those winters been,
She's a Romanian Spaniard,
A fiesta'ing gypsy queen.

Anyway, I'm not on the dole. I'm a respectable Student. Well I say I'm not on the dole but I will be in about 10 months.

Holy shit these films are absolutely awful. Yet strangely compelling.

I've watched the first two films now and I am already sick of Harry.

Aye he's a bit of a prat in the films. The third one is substantially better than the first two though.

Just got back from working at the cinema. All the imax shows were sold out, and probably will be for the weekend. I'd book online if any of you want to watch it to avoid disappointment.

I watched the first part of this earlier. Some decent moments, but it felt very slow. Does it pick up for the second? I imagine it would, with the huge battle and whatnot.

Then again, Half Blood Prince bored me to tears, and that had the OMG DUMBLEDORE NOOOOOOOOOOOO scene.

Yep it picks up really really quickly and you will get to the battle scene within half hour to 35 minutes.

Right just saw the movie. The Battle scene was so awful. Voldemort's death was fairly anti-climatic. I was also expecting that Mrs Weasley-Bellatrix fight scene to get more importance.

I'm not sure I have it in me to watch the third. Watching Harry kill the huge Basilisk with that little plastic sword was too much for me. Does it not get annoying that he just keeps winning? And why do Dumbledore and co even pretend to punish him? 'Well you broke all the school rules, so we're going to have to punish you Harry......lolz only joking you saved the day, million points for Gryffindor!' Wow. You sure had me going there Dumbledore. Also why does he always introduce himself as 'Harry Potter' who uses their full name like that? feck off you arrogant pleb, you just want everyone to know who you are.

Fear not. They just calculated that they'd prefer 30% more money (and who wouldn't, really) by having the film clock in at two hours instead of 2:40-ish.

So you'll likely get your battle-fix on the DVD/BR (Pay up! It's the only way you'll get to see those beloved character death scenes you thought were going to get in the great big IMAX theater version!)

It seems that you are in fact Draco Malfoy.

The third one has Gary Oldman! You have to watch it.

Is he the blonde gimp with the stupid dad? I mean really, Harry Potter is 4 foot tall, how hard can it be to kill him? If manufacturing some cunning plan to slip a magical book to the sister of his best friend in the hope said sister will become possessed and unleash a giant petrifying snake to kill Harry doesn't work, just pick up a rock and hit him with it. Voldemort must be the most useless villain in history an' all. Can't kill Harry with magic huh? Well push him down some feckin stairs then, genius.

I realize it's aimed at young adults, but come on the cheese and the 'puke in my mouth' moments are too much. Is it toned down in the books?

Smashed I don't really get why you watch the movies if you ever did. I mean you don't read the books and you know the movie is for like young adults, then why bother watch them when you know you are going to be disappointed?

Watched it last night, as a very big fan of the books I really enjoyed it. I don't really 'get' how to do Spoilers so I won't go into details, but it didn't disappoint from a fans point of view. I liked how they dealt with the bit where Harry goes into the forest to meet Voldemort (Resurrection Stone), liked the dragon bit, liked that they kept Mrs Weasley's line in (NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!), liked how Neville was given a prominent role (I love Neville), liked the Harry-Dumbledore scene (was important they got that right, and they did), thought Snape was very good but I would have dealt with the Prince's Tale slightly differently.

Odeon does these little Harry Potter-type glasses for the 3D glasses btw, thought that was cute. And because I went on first night there were loads of kids around me dressed up, mainly as Harry Potter, but a few Rons, a few Hagrids, a few Dementors and even one Voldemort.

Well I am a young adult. And how do I know I will be disappointed unless I watch them

^ Just say what ever you want to say within spoiler tags like this: SPOILER.../SPOILER.

Aye there are a few too many hugging Hagrid moments and whatnot. Like I said they get less cheesy and 'darker' as they go on. I'm not really sure if the first few books were as cheesy as the films. They could well have been and I didn't really notice as I suppose you can get away with it a bit more when it's just words on a page.

The books are not cheesy at all. The first book has touching moments, like when Harry sees his parents in the Mirror of Erised, and is a good story. Problem is, Harry's only 11, he's a kid, and when you translate it into a film, it's going to have cheesy moments, especially with an American/Hollywood director. The second book is much darker than the second film, the idea of students getting picked off one by one by an unseen horror, no-one knows who could be next or who's doing it... that's chilling in the book. Problem is, again, Harry's still a kid, and translating massive spiders and snakes onto a Hollywood screen is going to have those cheesy moments. As Harry gets older there's less need for those childish cheesy moments, which is realised in the later films.

Friday Report: 'Harry Potter' Conjures Opening Day Record - Box Office Mojo

Apparently had the best opening ever. It has made $250m worldwide in two days. That is amazing.

Doesn't surprise me, had to book a few weeks in advance, our local Odeon is showing it all day and it's sold out for the next 2 weeks.
