Do you actually have proof of this negotiation from 95m down to 80m?
What does it fecking matter? Lots of Leicester lads on here, now seem to have departed, we’re adamant that the price was way above £80m and was simply not negotiable as they wouldn’t be ‘bullied’. We’ve got there though.

This is the bloody point.

The amount of ITKs on here that speak fact from 3rd & 4th hand journo sources amazes me.

We may have saved up to £15mil on this transfer but what I can unequivocally say is we have made a first team signing in the last week of the transfer window & he has missed out on a pre-season with his new club and he now has less time to settle; both on & off the pitch [yes Leicester isn’t so far from Manchester but he still needs to move his family etc.].

Most transfers come in as ‘undisclosed’ so I honestly have a element of scepticism when prices are reported cause quite honestly how can we know.

Also let’s say we’ve ‘saved’ £15mil on this transfer; where do we as a club see this £15mil materialise? is the £15 mil saved most of the fee for Dan James? Or is it £15mil in the back pockets of the Glazers? Is the £15mil saved the wasted Mata wages for the next 2/3 years?

We’ve eventually signed the player [near enough] so this transfer may be considered a success but given it was obvious we needed a CB from last season it can’t be best practice to only sign one the week before the season to sign one.

How long should the entire medical take then???
Video shows he arrived at Carrington today. I’m no expert but have been through a similar process. At Carrington it suggests they were doing basic fitness testing, probably testing cardio-vascular/lung strength and recovery e.g. exercise based, such as speed and endurance testing. They will likely send him to a clinic, tomorrow latest, for things like ECG’s, lung capacity tests, blood testing etc and any scans if there’s any cause for concerns, such as knees etc. Bottom line is all should be over tomorrow latest with results early Monday.

They also do the photo shoots with new arrivals. Plus marketing and editing teams do their bit after. Plus we interview him as well on MUTV. Don’t they usually release all this info at once?

There appears to be quite a bit of negativity over Maguire but I see parallels with a certain Steve Bruce.
He wasn’t the quickest, but his partnership with Garry Pallister was one of the best in the modern game. Bruce wasn’t good enough for England but he was good enough for Utd and who is to say that Lindlehoff and Maguire can’t do what Bruce and Pallister did?
I think Maguire is a great improvement on what we have and should really compliment Lindlehoff and the rest of our defence.

I think they’ll focus on the medical aspects. My best guess is he will have done all of the Carrington tests today, and quite possibly also done the private clinical tests as well, if not then by tomorrow. They’ll do all of the marketing prep and interviews whist awaiting final results. Results and formal announcement on Monday is what i’d expect.

If medicals take that long, will we be able to do everything on time with Dybala / other arrivals if there are any?

From what I saw last season Evans actually impressed me more defensively. Maguire attracts a lot of attention for his ball playing abilities that's a big reason why.
I promise this comment has not a shred of bitterness, you are right, defensively Evans was significantly better than Harry last season.
Harry is proper bloke, professional and a very good player aerially and striding forward splaying accurate passes.
I think we all know though, 80 mil plus is bend over whilst lubing up a rolling pin , eye wateringly so.
I wish Harry all the best he's a top bloke and for those commenting about wether they'll see any of us during the season, I'll pop in periodically and look forward to feedback and analysis on Harry and our respective seasons.
Look forward to Vardy up against Harry in September

Looks like he's at OT. Funny how at least 2 ex pool reckon we've overpaid, or he's not good enough or he will struggle or he can't do this or he's not good out wide , ( D Saunders).. Souness we've over paid, S Nicholl another one.

But when at the Foxes, and For England it was different story?? Have they got issues with UTD or Maguire ?

Steve Nicol shouldn’t be anywhere near a tv screen. Embarrassing piece of shit. You can just see the Liverpool bias ooze from his fecking face. In fact everyone on that ESPN FC panel should be sacked except for Craig Burley. It’s an atrocious panel and they keep interviewing Gab Marcotti as well.

It’s £80m. Not plus anything. £12m of that goes straight to Hull. Now Leicester have 5 days to find a replacement and all clubs they approach will know they have money to spend.

Evans shit his pants regularly playing for United. Some players just can’t hack playing for a big club.

Fee agreed | Subject to medical and personal terms - is the new 'have been linked with'.

Getting £80 million for a £50 million CB is being bullied?

I wish we'd get bullied for Rojo and Bailly

Are you quoting that fee from the press? Because as far as I know there's been no official confirmation, Percy from the Telegraph said £85 mil and he's normally spot on re us.
Your Evans comment and 'Big Club' snipe is a bit daft because it makes you sound nah nah na nah nah.
I gave an honest assessment on Harry and Evans, a view shared by many Leicester fans, I like the bloke and wish him all the best, maybe you should learn a little humility.

I’m not one for statistics I just like or dislike a player on what I see, a bit like a painting really. Now if you are saying he is closer to Pallister than that is no bad thing either.

Definitely a good thing. Pallister was the more cultured and assured on the ball of that partnership, and Maguire's long strides and languid style immediately remind me of him. E.g. if you watch Giggs' chance here (around 1:10 onward) and Cole's third goal that follows it brings Maguire's trademark runs out of defense to mind:

We should as fans not worry much about the price. The only important thing is to hope he will save our defensive line

Ooga chakka hooga hooga !

Ooga chaKa hooga hooga! (American Indian war chant)

I can’t stop this feeling.
Deep inside of me.
Girl, you just don't realize
What you do to me.

I'm hooked on a feeling
I'm high on believing
That you're in love with me.

(Number one on Billboard 1974)

It's actually 'ooga chakka' (double k) in Lindehoff's music video.
