Sign another defender ffs. What the feck is he waiting for?? This is supposed to be the rebuild. We finished outside the top 4 again. Its the end of July and all we have bought is a right back which we were missing since Gary Nevile retired.
Plus we lost Herrera. fecking disaster again or what?

In the interests of fairness I’ve already asked other people to knock it off, so please knock it off now. That joke is done
I'm sorry. I knew I was a bit late to the party and probably should have stayed at home.

I still think it makes sense to sign MAGUIRE though, as he plays on the left and can realistically partner up with any one of our other defenders and it'll be a bit more balanced than recent years. He seems to be one-footed, the same as Matic which might keep us a bit predictable in the build up despite their abilities on the ball.

Woodward and co seem to be tunnel visioned on getting Maguire without considering other options but Leicester is demanding an outrageous sum so that's where the halt is.

Total disaster. It’s like Groundhog Day. Every single summer and our board and CEO do not give a flying feck and are actually wilfully neglecting to help the squad. They have absolutely zero respect for the fans or the traditions of the club.

Maguire apparently clapping the crowd like it was his last match tonight, and stopping to sign autographs. Dodgy source, anyone at the match?

Also doesn't mean he's coming to us of course.

Somebody on reddit posted footage at the end of the game and it seems that Maguire actually just went straight down the tunnel with the other players. Think there were 2 players that went to the fans but it wasn't him by the sounds of it.

Thanks, I suspected it needed some verifying, or not.

He was subbed off after an hour and did the same as everyone else

The propaganda is real by now, all these sources and ITKs are really making these transfers absolutely mad.

Maguire celebrated his goal.

Anyone saying he was saying goodbye to the fans, is seeing what they want to see. It’s no different to any other celebration really.

The goal is shown on the LCFC twitter feed. Unfortunately as I’m fairly new. It won’t let me post a direct link.

If these are the shite names we're coming up with for Maguire, I dread to think what our rivals will call Longstaff.
Definitely wasn’t a dig at him- more like a dig at news with nothing to it.
And for Longstaff, they don’t have to use much imagination.
“Longstaff was looking slow in midfield, seems like something was holding him down”

90m is crazy money. Offer 60m and then 30m bonus if we win CL and he wins ballon d'or in same year. That would do.

As I tried to say other day, no new bid, confirmed by the manager.

Odd way of doing business in my view, either put up the money or go elsewhere. Player seems like he would accept the move but would also stay with us, he doesnt care enough to do a transfer request.

You will be around 25 points behind us at the end of next season, don't worry about us and focus more on your unique-styled manager, plus the rest of your actual competition.

One bad season and you might be battling around the relegation area and that's just the reality of football.
I'm not worrying about you, honestly, I have tried to contribute views and feedback from the Leicester end and have some constructive debate.

I think we'll have a fairly decent season so if you do have a 25 point gap on us I would expect to see you challenging for the EPL trophy come May, all the best.

It can happen if Maguire is unhappy and not motivated to give a 100% at Leicester, especially since they have the inept Brendan Rodgers in charge.

I think many football fans underestimate our club right now and overestimate how well the like of Leicester and Wolves will do. They will be far behind us next season.

Bit in bold - football fans, its either my club is the best everyone else is total carp, or our players are league 1 standard, whereas everyone else's players could play for Barca!

Harry will be gagging to come to you when you refused to meet his agreed asking price, he will really think you are desparate for him to join you! He even ended his Twitter silence yesterday, tweet with a nice big blue heart

Also @DoomSlayer - you are funny  Its good too see someone take this whole thing for what it is.

All the best

Let’s drop maguire - Leicester playing silly games fee wise. Tuanzebe and Lindelöf, Bailey Smalling and Jones in the bench. Get some attackers in, feck it, citeh got the league sewn up anyway, let’s attack attack attack and enjoy it.

Think Leicester are the only one's not playing silly games in this. This price was set from the outset, you will find its Utd trying all sorts of tricks to get Leicester to lower the price.
("You are the top target", "We are looking elsewhere","We will be patient, etc", "We are Utd!", etc, etc)

So if you are looking for silly games, I suggest you look closer to home (And I don`t mean Cardiff). The fact he is still enjoying playing for Leicester, sending recent club promoting tweets, means the effort and acceptance of the price is need from Utd.

It really is that simple.

Would lose his loyalty bonus if he does a transfer request, so that would be a last resort for any player

Ah well, Diop will be available for around the same price.

I feel that the stumbling block is Brendan Rodgers

Don’t think it’s anything to do with that - it’s about money as is the case with most transfers.

Club are setting a price that most believe to be inflated, so he has every right to dig in and make sure he doesn’t forfeit what would be due to him.

I’m not sure how this will play out. I still think it will happen but it’s probably going to go down to the wire.

Come on Woody, just pony up & pay what they ask.
If you need any convincing just think back to having Calamity Jones & Smalling as CB's.

how do you know that we haven't gone elsewhere? At this point the only thing keeping this alive are the media and a few ITK's. From everything your manager is saying we haven't made contract or an improved bid for weeks. That would suggest we've moved on

I think tou could be right here. I think Leicester have quoted such a high fee, that they hope it is so ludicrous that no-one will pay. I believe Rogers wants to keep him as he wants to build on the semi decent season Leicester had last year and wants to try to push for European qualification this year.

Didn't realise that the player is not good enough because City haven't targeting him with the same intensity. Let's not buy him cause City don't want to pay the money.

I can give you various reasons why.

1. City lost Kompany who was being phased out - ok he played final few games.
2. They have invested heavily on Stones, Otamend, Laporte
3. City defence is still good enoug
4. Pep has said Fernandinho can slot in that role, like he did with Mascherano at Barca
5. City don't need him as much as we do

Is that enough for you?

Also weren't city looking for a RB? Cancelo was mentioned... we shouldn't have got AWB cause City didnt want him?
err that's my point: let's not buy him because City didn't!

This is now more than embarrassing. We should either pay the asking price or move on. It's pathetic for a club of our size and resources to be in this position - very (typically) poor show by Ed.

There are plenty more defenders around who can do the same job. Let them keep him.

Given what it's took recently to win the league, are you saying you expect Leicester to get around 70 points this season? An improvement of almost 20 points from last season?

It isn't, its actually pretty standard for big deals. If a club just went around just paying whatever the selling club asked for first time whenever they tried to buy a player without even trying to negotiate. Then before long that club would be having to pay ever increasing extortionate fees for every player they buy. As every other club would think they are naive mugs who will just pay anything.

It seems similar to the VVD saga Liverpool had with Southampton.

The reality is that you either have to pay the asking price or move on to a different target. It depends on how set on Maguire Ole is?

The big advantage with Maguire is that even if you sign him on deadline day, or late in the window, he seems like the kind of player that would be able to slot straight in to the team.

In my opinion he isn't worth a world record fee, but if he transforms your defence then the fee will soon be forgotten about.

Seems a case of the player ready and wiling to leave but is reluctant to kick up a fuss in order to do so. Surely players will start demanding release clauses are inserted in their contracts in PL? Or is that not allowed? With the amount of money here now, it'd surely make sense in order to bring a bit of sanity back to the market.

We clearly only want Maguire as Ole just said in his press conference that just because you face a hurdle doesn’t mean you give up and look for a different path, we’ll end up smashing the world record for him.

Release clauses are permitted in England, but don't have the same authority as they do in Spain. In the same way that when a player signs a five year contract they should be expected to honour it for five years unless the club decides differently.

Liverpool flatly refuse to give any player a release clause now. One of the reasons Emre Can didn't sign a new contract at Liverpool was because he was insistent on having a 25 million pound release cause.

Leicester owner was at the friendly yesterday. pic on twatter, with Maguire, didn't look to be like a lot of love lost.

Yeah it is terribly boring. For the most part, I just drop in here once or twice a day, scan the threads for tweets and move on to something else.
