Would definitely suit playing in a Chelsea back three far better than in a two with us.

With our 3 man setup I would honestly rather try RLC at CB than play Macguire relugarly. Tuchel has benched really good players forever for being error prone down field… and he would be ok with Macguire?

Maguire would do well in the right setup. I think the past 2 seasons scarred many United players for whatever reason, starting with the Europa League final loss.

There's a good defender there in the right set up but the price tag and the captaincy issue was just ludicrous. Even when he was at his best form here he was never a world class defender (I remember Giroud giving him a nightmare in the FA cup semi)
I can't believe this story is true but if it is then it might be good for the player and the club to part ways. Otherwise, I hope Casemiro and a new set of full backs have the knock on effect of giving Maguire some confidence and a bit of protection.
