Watch us get Olympiacos in the CL
Get feckedNeeds to be transfer listed immediately. Not that anyone else would be stupid enough to buy him . A total disgrace to the shirt. Disgusting behaviour from him
Not really,I've seen a good amount in the middle, myself included, who don't necessarily buy all the dodgy details reported by the police but also think Harry put the club in a tough spot.People on here seem to be in 2 very distinct camps without any middle ground.
The "sack him" what a disgrace types, and the "this is clearly a joke" camp.
Not having ample time to defend yourself is shocking. If anybody is taking the moral high horse in here about it they arent worth listening to.The most efficient legal system in the world... fire it through in 2 days and let them off with a big imaginary punishment.
Get a grip man, he made a mistake lots of people do..Needs to be transfer listed immediately. Not that anyone else would be stupid enough to buy him . A total disgrace to the shirt. Disgusting behaviour from him
The gods spoke.Watch us get drawn with some Greek team in the champions league now.
ah well once Fern says so its must be true - who the feck is Fern Hawkins?
Because police across the world do have a track record of blindly supporting their own or falsifying a set of events, whereas people of colour had a history of their cries of racism being ignored and dismissed. Dismissing the validity of a police statement doesn’t make you a bad person whereas dismissing accusations of racism does. What's the difference? Why would you believe one more over the other? Specifically Evra - Maguire scenario, or in all of them (different players)?
I think it’s more just people not understanding the nuances of Law, really. Now criminal law isn’t exactly my forte, nor do I have any idea of Greek law, but in the UK it would simply be on the prosecution to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Harry Maguire attempted to bribe a police officer and that he committed aggravated assault. His motive for doing so - i.e. attempting to protect his sister (if that’s confirmed to be true?) - for the most part, isn’t really a mitigating factor for the charge. And even if it is, it’s something that would be considered in relation to the severity of the sentence for the charge - not whether or not he’s actually guilty of the charges.I think he is guilty of everything he has been charged with and can imagine it happening, when he was drunk and in a highly emotional state.
The Albanian and his sister is also most likely true, but that has nothing to do with these charges, which were a separate event, and have been proven in a court of law.
But English men think fighting is normal and just for banz, and any foreign cop who doubts that much be corrupt.
It's a story of intrigue, lust and a hefty amount of punchkicking! So what's the story, I haven't been following the rumours.?
How the feck do you even prove of all those allegations in a one day trial
Wait for the TV series. So what's the story, I haven't been following the rumours.?
Wont someone think of the Times staff? This is clearly personal for them.
This case seems nuts. If Maguire's sister really was attacked its disgusting that such a serious issue is being swept under the rug. Id be stunned if this is the last step in this case
He’s not paying enough though! Surely we would want a not guilty verdictWoodward with the Sancho money.
Or they could have just accepted a hefty bribe and heard nothing more of it? No publicity, nothing.
Or you believe they are even more corrupt than that by somehow thinking it was sensible to reject a large bribe, take it to court, and create a publicity storm around it, potentially damaging the tourism in their own district?
Makes perfect sense!
This will surely have an effect on him I fear, he's only human. If this suspended sentence sticks I assume Maguire will be unable to travel to a European tie against Olympiacos. If that kind of situation ends up costing us further down the line that will be pretty shit, otherwise I'm not worried at all.
From Efsyn, one of Greece's biggest newspapers:
I imagine more details will come out soon. A Greek poster on Reddit said that in all criminal trials, court transcripts are released within a few weeks.
lets see who comes off worse Maguire or the Mykanos and Greek tourist industry

Now @Martial’sEmergingSmile posted an excerpt from a Greek paper on page 62 stating that three witnesses gave evidence confirming Maguire and his friends to be the aggressors. That’s pretty compelling evidence in favour of the prosecution. From the wee excerpts of tweets I’ve seen from Maguire’s side; it doesn’t sound like the most sturdiest of defences that has been raised.
I’m sure we will see more information come to light as the weeks progress, but people really need to tone down the idea that this is some bizarre corruption plot to wring Maguire for all the money he has to give to the mafia. It’s a bit weird.
maybe im just a blind homer. but if his side of the story is correct and his sister was attacked etc, he is 100% correct
That is probably why they did not show any police station coverage. That should have been part of the defence but was not released. Would it surprise anybody if the camera wasn't working or they accidently wiped it.I think it’s more just people not understanding the nuances of Law, really.
